The new Extraction-Shooter Marauders will be out tomorrow, and as usual in this genre, there are many things to learn. Since we have already been able to play for some time in various tech tests, we are now giving you the most important starter tips for beginners in Marauders.
In short: What is Marauders? Marauders is an Extraction-Shooter like Escape from Tarkov or The Cycle but in an unusual setting. In Marauders, you find yourself in space in a fictional space setting where World War I never ended.
You play a space mercenary called Marauder, who has to gather resources and complete various tasks. Start in your own spaceship, where you are at the start of each round. Now you have the chance to attack enemy ships or fly to the node of the respective map. After collecting enough loot, you must return to your ship and escape through an extraction gate.

The most Important Starter Tips for Beginners in Marauders
To make your start in the harsh space of Marauders easier, we have put together the most essential tips for you below. Besides the obvious things like “Better Armor = More Protection” and “Left Mouse Button is for Shooting” there are many not-so-obvious things in Marauders. In addition to the information you should have before your first raid, there are a few things to consider in the menu when preparing for the raid.
Beginner Tips before your first Raid in Marauders
#1 Don’t forget your contracts
Before and after each raid, you should check the Contracts tab in your menu. There is not only the important “Zero to Hero” mission series but also three slots for daily contracts that you can choose from freely.
Our insider tip: For the first contract, you should collect some “scrap parts” better don’t make a mistake here and spend hours looking for them in the first raids. The quickest way is to just scrap some items from your inventory in the crafting area. It’s worth buying cheap armor and scrapping it to get junk parts and synthetic straps. You need them later to craft many essential items.
#2 Check the settings
This applies, in particular, to familiarize yourself with the controls. The inventory hotkeys that cannot yet be changed are particularly influential, for example, CTRL + left-click to collect items quickly, and ALT + left-click to store items quickly. The button for switching the fire mode, as well as the mapping of the ship controls, is also important.
Our insider tip: Also test the various voice lines, the standard assignment for this is F1-F8.
After familiarizing yourself with the menu, you are almost ready for the first raid. Next, we will give tips to help you with your first raids. This includes your choice of equipment and some things you should consider better.

#3 Equipment for your first Raid
If you have never played Marauders before, we advise you to put all your equipment in your stash and start the raid without any weapons or items. On your rust bucket (the free spaceship), a vest with pockets, a pistol, and a few shots spawns on a cupboard every round. So you can first get to know the different maps and the controls and, if necessary, adjust the sensitivity of your mouse.
#4 What to do when I’m in?
When you fly your ship through space, your main target is the large area in the middle of the map. There are yellow gates where you can dock your spaceship. Be careful, on the way there, you will probably meet other players in their ships trying to prevent you from docking. If your ship is destroyed, you can use one of your emergency pods to breach your opponent’s ship and get revenge or just leave the map.
Another option is to “park” your ship and use one of your emergency pods to breach other player ships or the coveted merchant ships and damaged highly guarded frigates.
#5 Be careful after docking
One of the most important tips you should internalize early on. If you are docked at the station, check which docking bay you are in as soon as you enter the station. This is the only place you can leave the map with your ship.
#6 Health, pain, and endurance
Your character has 100 health points, which you can regenerate with medical items and some food.
Taking damage increases your pain. It’s the white area on your health bar. As the pain increases, you lose the ability to heal yourself fully. Pain can be cured with painkillers or morphine.
Stamina drains the longer you are in the raid. As a result, you can only sprint shorter and shorter distances. You can regain stamina by eating food.
If you follow the tips above, you will certainly find it easier to complete the first raids. Always remember you cannot survive every round, and if you start the mission without equipping the rust bucket, you have nothing to lose. However, if you come home with full bags, the following things will probably help you.

#7 Inventory management and space
There are several ways to increase your inventory space. The simplest and most well-known is probably the storage of bags, you can’t store them inside each other, but each bag increases your inventory by a few slots. You can also unlock and craft the recipes for larger crates. Through them, you can quickly multiply your inventory slots.
Our insider tip: Even if you don’t increase your inventory directly, you can also gain space by building new ships. Each manufactured ship has its stash, which you can use as a long-term stash.
#8 Don’t neglect the crafting menu
You craft the boxes mentioned, but you can also craft armor, helmets, bags, and even weapons. You can craft almost any item you can find. In addition to normal items, you unlock other ship types that you must construct yourself.
#9 Always take a lock pick with you
You need lock picks to get the most valuable loot on the different maps. Locked chests, safes, and entire rooms open up to you, the little piece of metal. The best part is you can make lock picks, and they only cost one piece of metal.
#10 Vaults and blowing torches
Not only does the lock pick give you access to good loot, but the blowing torch can also open a certain type of door. However, the blowing torch is a rarer item. So until you can craft it yourself, you won’t find that many of them. It can be used to open the large vault door that is found on various maps. To do this, equip him as a weapon and destroy the three locks on the right side of the door.
