To get the most out of your Pokémon and train them to be the strongest, it's important to know which attacks are the strongest in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
What it is about: Each Pokémon type has special attacks that only that particular Pokémon type can learn, with a few attacks being stronger than others. Our guide tells you which attacks are the strongest, depending on the Pokémon type, so you can definitely teach them to your Pokémon.
Explosion: If you use the attack Explosion, all Pokémon that are in battle near the Pokémon that performs this attack will be affected by it, including the performing Pokémon, which will defeat itself as a result.
Explosion cannot be used if one of the opponents has the Moisture ability. It also has no effect on Ghost Pokémon.
Eruption: The damage caused by this attack varies depending on the HP of the Pokémon using this attack.
Blast Burn: After you hit an opponent with Blast Burn, that opponent must sit out the next turn.
Water Spout: After you hit an opponent with Water Spout, they must sit out the next round.
Hydro Cannon: The damage to this attack varies depending on the HP of the Pokémon using this attack.
Chloroblast: When using this attack, the Pokémon performing this attack loses half (50%) of its HP.
Frenzy Plant: After using Frenzy Plant, the Pokémon must sit out the next round unless the attack failed or misses.
Focus Punch: If you select Focus Punch, your Pokémon will start to charge up. During this time, it must not be hit by another attack so that it does not lose focus. If it is not attacked, it will perform the attack at the end of that turn.
Reversal: The strength of Reversal varies, depending on the remaining HP of the performing Pokémon.
Precipice Blade: Precipice Blade is a Ground-type attack that has been around since Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
Head Smash: After performing Head Smash, your Pokémon receives knockback damage equal to half the damage it dealt.
Gigaton Hammer: You can't use Gigaton Hammer twice in a row. It has been in the game since the 9th generation and is Tinkatons special attack.
Sky Attack: After selecting this attack, your Pokémon will start to glow and attack in the next round. There is a chance that the opponent will flinch and not be able to attack.
Double Shock: Double Shock uses up all of your Pokémon's Electrical Energy, making it a non-Electric type for the rest of the battle.
Zap Cannon: If Zap Cannon hits your opponent, it paralyzes them 100%. However, Pokémon that have the Bulletproof ability are immune to Zap Cannon.
Volt Tackle: Recoil causes your Pokémon to take one-third of the damage it dealt to the opponent. In addition, you have a 10% chance of paralyzing your opponent.
Electro Ball: The higher your Pokémon's initiative is compared to your opponent's, the more damage Electro Ball does.
Future Sight: If you use the Future Sight attack, it will not be executed until two turns later, regardless of whether the opponent has changed or whether you have changed your Pokémon. However, Future Sight is ineffective against Dark Pokémon.
Glacial Lance: Glacial Lance is an Ice-type attack that has existed since the 8th generation.
Megahorn: Megahorn is the original special attack of Bug-type Heracross, existing since 2nd generation.
Gunk Shot: Gunk Shot poisons your opponent with a 30% chance unless it is of the Steel or Poison type, or has already received a status change.
Belch: You can only use Belch if a berry was previously consumed, or an enemy's berry is consumed during combat.
Astral Barrage: Astral Barrage is a Spirit-type attack that has been around since the eighth generation.
Shadow Force: After you select Shadow Force, your Pokémon disappears and attacks one turn later.
Hyperspace Fury: Hoopa's Unleashed Form is the only Pokémon that can perform this attack. By performing Hyperspace Fury, your Pokémon's defense decreases.
Fling: If you choose Fling, your Pokémon throws the item it is carrying at the enemy Pokémon. Depending on the item, the damage inflicted varies.
Dragon Energy: The more HP your Pokémon has, the more damage Dragon Energy does to your opponent.
Roar of Time: If Roar of Time hits your opponent, your Pokémon must sit out the next round.
Fleur Cannon: When executed, lowers your Pokémon's Special Attack by two levels.
