How to Solve The Shrine Puzzle in Resident Evil 4 Remake

In the southern caves (see map below) follow the path for now and turn right at the yellow barrels. Now climb up the ladder on the right. The puzzle is right near the ladder.

If you activate the relevant panel with the strange symbols, a close-up view will open. To solve the puzzle you just have to press the buttons in this order (see screenshot below): 2, 5, 6, 8. Now you can steal the head of the apostle statue in the next room.
