The Resident Evil 4 remake has the job of spreading fear and terror among gamers. Now a new trailer shows the cult survival horror from a completely different perspective: Anime-style and with a rigorous smile duty for everyone involved.

Resident Evil 4 Remake meets Heidi: Tomorrow, the anticipated remake of Resident Evil 4 will be released. To mark the occasion, developer and publisher Capcom has teamed up with animation studio Nippon Animation to produce a "slightly different" trailer for the popular horror game.

The scenes pick up on the classic anime style of the 1974 children's series "Heidi". This goes hand in hand with a strict positivity obligation for all those involved, or to put it casually: a smile obligation. Yes, even the normally extremely grumpy villagers are subjected to this requirement, which results in wonderfully absurd scenes. Have a look at that a little further down.

The video posted on the Biohazard/Resident Evil YouTube channel also deepens the Heidi idea by having Leon S. Kennedy and the president's daughter Ashley slip into the roles of Peter and Heidi, so to speak. The village crowd also features other characters from the famous television series, such as the iconic grandfather (shown here holding a lumberjack's axe). Personally, this gives us hope for a few anime Easter Eggs in the game.
