Starfield: The Best Melee Weapons in the Overview

Starfield Best Melee Weapons

Deutsch English

The best melee weapons of Starfield are already considerably strong natively. Our overview shows the most effective stabbing and hacking instruments, sorted by damage value.

Here’s the deal: Many home space explorers may play Starfield like a role-playing shooter. But Bethesda’s latest prank also offers a wider range of melee weapons that are great for splitting alien skulls.

If you’re thinking about going on a “melee run” in Starfield, the following overview will show you how hard you can stab or slash with the best melee weapons. Of course, they’re inferior to the good (and even better) firearms in the game, but blades also have their advantages when used wisely.

In the table below you can see the native damage values of each weapon, which means that you can further increase the damage they do, for example, by increasing the rank of the corresponding ability. As you probably already know, you do this in Starfield’s skill menu.

How to Get Melee Weapons in Starfield

Starfield contains procedural gameplay elements, and the locations of weapons can also be determined vaguely for the most part. For example, to get hold of the strongest blade, the Va’Ruun Painblade, you’ll have no choice but to search for it in many systems, planets and facilities.

Weaker melee weapons, such as the Combat Knife, the Rescue Axe or the Ripshank, can be found more often – among other things, in storage crates and in the pockets of disabled enemies.

There are exceptions to the particularly strong weapons; in this guide you’ll find tips on how to get hold of the Wakizashi Katana, number 2 in the ranking.

Alex's first high score dates back to 1982, however, not on the then newly released C64, but on the four years older Magnavox Odyssey 2 console (a counterpart to the Atari VCS 2600). For Guided, he mainly writes news, guides and game reviews; after the editorial deadline, he usually puts the games of the local indie studio Knights of Bytes to music.
