While exploring the world of Starfield, you may have run into the issue of having too much unnecessary loot. So, in this guide, you’ll learn about the best vendors and shops to sell items in Starfield.
Where to Find the Best Shops (TLDR):
While you can always drop all the loot you won’t need, selling it is definitely the better option. You’ll get Credits for selling, and you can increase the amount you’re getting by upgrading the Commerce skill. There are many different vendors all over Starfield, but let’s take a look at the best ones.

New Atlantis is a great place for new players to sell items. It has many vendors and is available very early in the game. As soon as you land, you’ll find a Trade Authority kiosk where you can sell 5,000 Credits’ worth of loot, including contraband. In general, Trade Authority kiosks are quite convenient, as you can find them in any major city.
Another decent New Atlantis vendor is Jemison Mercantile. Just like the kiosk, they’ll have 5,000 Credits on hand. But, they will not buy contraband. You can find more vendors at The Well of New Atlantis. It features a UC Surplus store and a Trade Authority office with 11,000 Credits.
Neon is a city in the Volii system. Here, you can find three vendors who will buy anything for a good price, with a good number of Credits on hand.
And, just like New Atlantis, here you can find a Trade Authority office with 11,000 Credits. Another perk of Neon for selling is that the vendors are close to each other and each one of them has a giant neon sign for you to easily find them.
Akila City is a run-down, small city in the Cheyenne system. It’s not a bad city for selling as it has a Trade Authority kiosk, Shepherd’s, and Rowland Arms, each having 5,000 Credits. Apart from those stores, you can also find a Trade Authority office with 11,000 Credits
The Key is the Crimson Fleet’s space station, which is unlocked during the UCSysDef vs. Crimson Fleet questline. This may be the best location for selling items in Starfield.
You can find a total of 5 vendors on The Key, all close together, so you’ll find them easily. They will buy any loot for a decent price, including contraband or stolen items. They won’t do a contraband scan upon boarding the station, either.

Another reason for selling here is the number of Credits these vendors have - 10,000-12,000, which makes them some of the richest in the game. This means you can sell a lot of stuff before the vendors run out of Credits. If you’d like to get better prices for survey data, read below as we’ll tell you about the best survey data vendor in all of Starfield.
Vladimir Sall is the best vendor for selling survey data. Unlocked during the Into The Unknown main story quest, he will offer you double prices for survey data.
One of the best ways to get Credits quickly is scanning a few gas giant planets and selling the data straight to Vladimir. You will get about 1,500 Credits for one fully surveyed gas giant.
