Want to give your spaceship in Starfield your own personal touch? You should consider renaming it. In our guide, we’ll show you how to easily rename your ship in Starfield.
Here’s the deal: In Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG, you can not only create your own character and build your own spaceships but also rename them as you like. The option for that isn’t immediately obvious, so we’re here to explain how to do it.
How to Rename Your Spaceship in Starfield
To give your spaceship in Starfield a new name, head to a city, like the starting city of Jemison in the Alpha Centauri star system. Right at the Mast District landing pad, you’ll find the Ship Service Tech, who offers various services related to your ship. You can have your ship repaired, modify it, or buy and sell new ships.
- Talk to the Ship Service Tech.
- Choose the option to modify your spaceship.
Rename your Ship in the Starfield Shipbuilder
Now you are in the Starfield shipbuilder and can customize and upgrade your ship as you like. You can also just change the name. This is how it works:
- Press B (PC) | X (Console) to access the building menu.
- Press C (PC) | SELECT (Console) to get to the Flight Check.
- Press G (PC) | X (Console) to rename your ship.
It won’t cost you anything to rename your ship in Starfield, and you can do it as often as you like. Once you’ve changed your spaceship’s name, it will be displayed when you target the ship with your scanner or when you approach the entry hatch.
