The starting planet of Starfield and also the starting area, the Argos Extractors Mining Outpost, remain accessible after completing the tutorial. We’ll show you the location of the prologue areas on the star map.
Here’s the deal: Starfield begins in the Argos Extractors Mining Outpost near the gas giant Anselon. The tutorial of the space role-playing game does not take place on a separate map, but on a freely accessible starting planet of the Starfield universe.
This also means that you can return to the Argos mine, as well as to the research lab on the moon Kreet, which you cleared of pirates with Sarah Morgan. But where exactly are these two starting areas? We’ve been busy taking screenshots of the locations so you can quickly indulge in nostalgia.
How to Return to the Starting Planet of Starfield
Your life as an emerging hero of the colonized systems begins in the Narion star system. There lies the starting planet of Starfield, a moon of the already mentioned gas giant Anselon. This moon is called Vectera, to which you will also return in an early quest.
As you can see in the screenshot above, the Narion system is located on the star map northeast of Alpha Centauri, which is home to the planet Jemison and the metropolis New Atlantis. If you select the Narion system with the mouse, Anselon appears on the far left of the map; you can see its two moons to the left and right of the dust ring.
If you select Vectera, for example, a large view of the moon opens. You have to turn this model a bit with the mouse so that the landing point “Argos Extractors Mining Outpost” appears. Select it as well and land as usual by pressing the “X” key (PC). The area you visited during the tutorial is directly in front of the exit hatch.
Location of the Kreet Research Lab
Even with the follow-up mission you completed in the company of Sarah Morgan, the prologue remained near Anselon. The name of the research lab in question is simply Kreet Research Lab and it is located, as the name suggests, on the Anselon moon Kreet.
We also went there again, by the way, because we had deposited numerous items of value there. That’s right: If you should have exceeded your carrying capacity again, the objects that you are forced to throw out of the inventory will remain in place, maybe even until the end of the game.
