At this year’s Gamescom in Cologne, there was a lot of exciting news for gaming enthusiasts, especially for fans of Farming Simulator. The latest release from Giants, Farming Simulator 22, proved once again that this niche is about more than just plowing and harvesting.
An enormous amount has happened since the debut of the first Farming Simulator in 2008. The scope of the game has expanded steadily over the years. More and more tractors, buildings, crop types, and cultivation options have been added to offer players an even more realistic and diverse farming experience. But that is by no means all – animal husbandry, various animals, and many other features have also been added. A special surprise for players was the introduction of a dedicated ESports league for budding hobby farmers.
Interview with Lars, Community Lead for Farming Simulator 22
We had the opportunity to talk to the Global Community Lead Lars Malcharek from Giants Software, and find out more about what is probably the most well-known niche game of all. Lars answered our questions about the new content, upcoming DLCs, and the exciting Arena mode. He also gave us an insight into the working world at Giants and how the team behind the game works together.
Farming Simulator 22 allows players to immerse themselves in the life of a modern farmer. From setting up their farm to choosing which crops to grow – be it cereals, fruit, or other things to create the most sustainable crop rotation possible – players have the freedom to design their farming operation as they see fit.
