How to Level up Your Pals in Palworld

Palworld Vanwyrm

One of the best flying Pals available in the game.

By leveling up your Pals, you will not only improve their stats such as HP, Attack, and Defense, but also by reaching certain level milestones you will get to train them with new Skills. Thanks to this, your Pals will be more effective when using new moves in battle or performing new tasks at your base. So, to get to our main goal, here are three ways to level up your Pals:

  • Grinding XP of Pals by making them do what they are intended to do.
  • Strengthen up your Pals with Statues of Power.
  • Use Pal Essence Condenser.

Grinding XP to Level up Your Pals

Speaking of the first option, although it may seem quite obvious, many people may underestimate it, missing important details of the process. Here are a few tips on how to get the most out of level grinding:

  • Don't let your Pals sit idle. Make sure your Pals are doing as many tasks as possible on base that match their Work Suitability, and don't forget to take them with you on hunts for new Pals, etc.
    • Pals will get XP for every finished task, so let them do easy jobs. One example is creating a lot of charcoal in the forge.
  • Keep an eye on the Sanity Level of your Pals, as it can seriously slow down the process of leveling up. If your Pals have a bad Sanity Level, they will not do their job and thus will not progress.

Statues of Power

Speaking of Statues of Power, this is a structure that you can set up on your base to level up your Pals by using Pal Souls. To build a Statue of Power, you will need 100 Stone and 10 Paldium Fragments. Keep in mind, however, that your Character level must be 8 or higher to learn this structure in your technology tree.

In general, Statues of Power have two purposes: To strengthen your Pals by increasing their stats or to increase your own catching power. To increase your catching power, you will need to use Lifmunk Effigies and to increase the stats of your Pals, you will need to use Pal Souls. To find these souls, you just need to look for them all over the world, as they are scattered randomly. Most often, you can get them from various chests or Pals such as Nox, Cawgnito, or Tombat.

Pal Essence Condenser

Pal Essence Condenser is the most effective, yet most sacrificial way to strengthen your Pals. First, your Character must be at least level 14, and you have to unlock the Condenser for 2 Ancient Technology Points. You will also need the following resources to craft the Pal Essence Condenser:

  • 5 Ancient Civilization Parts
  • 50 Ingots
  • 20 Palladium Fragments

However, your spending won't end with the construction of the Pal Essence Condenser. The way this structure works is that you will need to sacrifice several Pals of the same species to level up the star rating of one. The number of Pals needed to level up can vary from 4 to 64 (1-Star to 4-Star), which is quite a large number, so we recommend that you think twice about whom you want to level up. Keep in mind that for the best results, you should use a Pal that has good stats and Passive Skills.

How to Teach Your Pals New Skills in Palworld

Palworld Skill Fruits

Skill Fruits needed to teach your Pals new Active Skills.

Foremost, you will unlock new Skills for your Pals by progressing and reaching certain level milestones. Once your Pal reaches a level that allows them to learn a new Skill, you will see a notification on the left side of the screen. In addition, you can also teach them new Active Skills by using Skill Fruits. Just like Pals themselves, these fruits are classified by Elements. Note that even though a few of these Fruits may look identical, each Skill Fruit will have a specific skill it can teach your Pal that corresponds to the Element and is listed in the description.

You can buy some Skill Fruits from Merchants for an average of 3,000 to 5,000 Gold. However, the price will depend on the rarity of the skill that this Fruit teaches. In addition, you can collect Skill Fruits by finding the Skill Fruit Trees on which they grow. We recommend marking locations with these trees on your map, as they tend to regenerate fruit over time when picked. You will also likely find Skill Fruits among random loot or chests.
