Everything is different this year because there will be no more events for the dino-survival ARK: Survival Evolved. At least not the way you know it from all the past years. Where the Love Evolved event awaits you in February, there is now the Valentine’s Evo event instead. We’ll tell you what to expect.
About the event: Actually, 2023 ARK Loved Evolved 4 should take place in February, but due to ARK 2, traditional style events are no longer celebrated. Instead, you can look forward to the Valentine’s Evo event. You’ll get access to items that are only available during the event. This time, however, they don’t include Chibi-Pets (small versions of the creatures), but only some boosters and skins.
- The Valentine’s Evo event starts on February 10
- The event ends on February 17
Players on Nintendo’s Switch can expect a regular Love Evolved event, which will take place from February 9 to 16 and will probably feature the same content as 2022.
What to Expect in ARK Valentine’s Evo Event 2023
During the Evo event, you can expect higher rates to advance faster in the game:
- Official Servers: 3x XP, Harvesting, Taming, and Breeding (imprint, maturation, hatch/gestation), 0.5x Mating Interval, 1.5x Hexagon Bonus
- Small Tribe Servers: 4.5x XP, 4.5x Harvesting, 4.5x Taming, and 4x Breeding (imprint, maturation, hatch/gestation), 0.5x Mating Interval, 1.5x Hexagon Bonus
- ARKPocalypse: 5x XP, 5x Harvesting, 5x Taming, and 5x Breeding (imprint, maturation, hatch/gestation), 0.5x Mating Interval, 1.5x Hexagon Bonus
- Classic: 6x XP, 6x Harvesting, 6x Taming, and 5x Breeding (imprint, maturation, hatch/gestation), 0.5x Mating Interval
Also, the creatures can appear in special colors, so it’s best to keep your eyes open!

All other skins and cosmetic items available in the last few years can be purchased in the HLNA Shop. These are the following skins and cosmetics:

What About Love Evolved on Private Servers?
Good question! Although the developers have not yet commented on this, we assume that unofficial servers will still have access to the standard events but without new content. As a server owner, you can activate Love Evolved with the following parameter:
-ActiveEvent=vday
Alternatively, you can activate any event in the server settings of your server host.
How to Get the Chocolate Boxes and Dino Candy on Private Servers
If the server you are playing on has activated the Love Evolved event, you can also find the Chocolate Boxes and Dino Candy. To get the coveted chocolates that make taming easier and heal your dinos 100% when you feed them with them, you’ll need to get your pets to mate.
Besides the eggs they lay, there is a chance that the chocolate boxes will show up. Also, the candies to temporarily change the color of your dinos can spawn next to the eggs when you pair them.
As an admin, it’s even easier:
- For chocolate: CHEAT GFI VALENTINESCHOCOLATE 1 0 0
- For Candy: CHEAT GFI VALENTINESDINOCANDY 1 0 0
