Early Access for Diablo 4 starts this weekend, and the Open Beta begins one week later. Blizzard has now announced when the preload will start in order to be best prepared. We have all the information!
When does the Diablo 4 beta start? The Early Access (Closed Beta) and the Open Beta will occur in March. The Early Access already starts on March 17th and runs until March 20th. So you have one weekend to go wild in Diablo 4. The subsequent Open Beta will take place one weekend later, from March 24th to 27th. Progress will be transferred from Early Access to Open Beta, but there will be a reset for the final release in June.
So that you can get started right away at the start of the Early Access or Open Beta without having to download everything on Friday, there is the preload. This allows you to download all the necessary data beforehand, which reduces the load on the servers and makes the start smoother. The preloads will start at the following times:
If you have already downloaded the Early Access, you don't need to download the Open Beta again in the preload. The game data will remain the same and will be transferred from Early Access to Open Beta.
You can download the Beta for PC via the Battle-net Launcher from Blizzard, or for PlayStation / Xbox in the respective store. An Xbox Gold membership or a PlayStation Plus subscription is unnecessary for the EA and Beta. However, a PlayStation Plus subscription will be required in Germany due to rating requirements.
This is how much storage space you need: Blizzard itself states in its system requirements that you need an SSD with 45 GB of free memory, but the preload is over 80 GB.
