“Just like a Destiny & WoW Raid” is how the upcoming Raids in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are supposed to feel, according to publisher Activision. Something brand new are the Raids – but, what is this anyway, how do the raids work how can you unlock them, and what raid rewards are in this mw2 raid?

Here’s the deal: Raids in Modern Warfare 2 are the next big step for publisher Activision. In them, you’re supposed to clean certain areas with some fellow players, shoot your way through enemy-infested corridors and complete a kind of boss fight at the end to then receive a fat reward. However, even though the first raid “Atomgrad” is already released today, many fans are confused. That’s why we at Guided.news are explaining everything you need to know about the raids in Modern Warfare 2 today:

  • What is a raid anyway?
  • How do you unlock the raid in MW2?
  • How does a raid work?
  • What raid rewards does mw2 offer?

Raid in Modern Warfare 2 Explained – Everything About Unlocking and Completing Raids.

What are Raids in MW2? Raids in Modern Warfare 2 are episodic co-op missions, of which there will be a new episode with each season. The first episode is called “Atomgrad” and is set after the events from MW2’s campaign. Each episode is supposed to offer several hours of gameplay and a mix of puzzles and combat scenarios. The spec ops raids in MW2 must be played in co-op, there is no matchmaking or solo mode.

  • We already have a guide to the entire raid including puzzles

When will Atomgrad be released? Today, on December 14, 2022, the first episode of the Spec Ops Raids in MW2 will already be released. Starting at 19:00 (CET) you can then start playing with your friends. Overview created – let’s go into detail with the raids!

How can I Unlock Raids in Modern Warfare 2?

To gain access to the Atomgrad Raid, you must obtain a Raid Assignment, which you unlock with a Daily Challenge, in Warzone 2, or via Cash in DMZ.

Here’s how you unlock the raid:

  • Multiplayer: Complete an appropriate Daily Challenge in Multiplayer or Special Ops.
  • Warzone 2: Finish a round of Warzone 2 with a ranking in the top 20 players.
  • DMZ: Use the final Exfil helicopter after the radioactive zone has devoured all Exfils and carry at least $30,000 cash.

Once you have unlocked access to the raid with the assignment, you will be given one week to complete the raid. If your access expires, you will have to fulfill one of the above requirements again. Fortunately, only one out of three players need to have raid access to start a raid in Modern Warfare 2.

How does a Raid Work in Modern Warfare 2?

Once you have received your raid access, you can now select and start the Spec Ops raids in the co-op section of Modern Warfare 2. Invite two other friends and get started. It’s certainly helpful to have played other co-op missions before. Just like in these missions, you’ll have to choose one of three classes or one of three starting kits in the raids:

  • Assault Kit: 3x plates, armor box, assault suit for more HP, use grenades faster, carry 7 plates in stock, two stims to start the round.
  • Medic Kit: double as fast Reviven, Revive Pistol, Selfrevive, Bomb Drone (1x per turn), longer tactical sprint, 30% faster at crawl, turn start with Claymore and AT mines.
  • Recon Kit: Snapshot pulse field upgrade, Sentry Gun and Cluster Mine, Tactical and lethal equipment recharges every 60 seconds, +1 tactical and +1 lethal equipment, turn start with heartbeat sensor.

Here you can see from which levels you unlock which skills in the kit for the raid.

You and your friends start the raid as Price, Gaz, and Farah, who must rescue members of their teams from an underground facility. Here you’ll not only encounter combative resistance. In places, you’ll have to show head as well as shots and solve various puzzles and riddles. However, we don’t want to reveal more at this point.

How long does a raid last? If you decide to start a raid, you should bring time with you. According to publisher Activision, a raid should take several hours. Teamwork also plays a very important role and decides whether you make great progress in 2 hours or are stuck in one spot for 2 hours. This is what the developers say in the Behind The Scenes video on TikTok.
