Dolphin Dive, Drop Shot, Bunny Hop -- what kind of movement options are not in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2? Many players are of the opinion that the Drop Shot is dead and that it takes far too long before you really hit the ground. We'll tell you how to complete the Drop Shot well twice as fast in this short guide.

In Modern Warfare 2 (2022), drop shots are considered disreputable. Not because they are so unfair, but because they supposedly don't work. But we'll show you in our short guide that drop shots are far from dead -- until now. That's because developer Infinity Ward might be interested in quickly removing the same-shot from the game:

How to do a faster drop shot in Modern Warfare 2.

The tactic we're going to show you works on PlayStation & Xbox as well as PC! You just need to get the timing right. And don't worry, you don't need any crazy finger movements that are unhealthy for every joint of your hands. Faster drop shot works from normal sprint and tactical sprint.

Perform fast Drop Shot on the consoles

Use the sprint and move around the map. If you see an enemy, you must act quickly:

  • Hold down the duck button.
  • Pull the left stick backwards
  • Time it so that you move the left stick backwards just before you press duck. If your timing is too late, you
  • will perform a Dolphin Dive instead of the fast Drop Shot.

Execute a fast Drop Shot on the PC

Again, run across the map in a tactical sprint and search for your opponents:

  • Hold down CTRL, C or your self-set Duck key.
  • While running with W, briefly press the S key to slow down.
  • You have to time the whole thing again so that you press the S-key just before ducking, otherwise you will
  • perform a Dolphin Dive again.

What are the benefits of a quick drop shot in MW2?

With drop shooting, you throw yourself to the ground as soon as you get into a firefight with an enemy. In theory, this ensures that you get a higher precision. In addition, you change your position and your opponent has to follow the now smaller target in the downward movement.

So you fire at a standing big target and your opponent at a small shrinking one. So far, so good: but why don't drop shots work well in Modern Warfare 2 & how can you get around it? We'll tell you! Now it's your turn: drop shots yes or no?
