Hardly anyone has heard of the horror FPS ILL yet, but the first trailers promise terrific horror. And even though the developers are keeping a low profile, new details have now come to light, as well as new screenshots.
This is ILL: ILL is an upcoming horror FPS by the two brothers Oleg Vdovenko and Vadim Vdovenko, who gained notoriety in the horror scene through cool 3D designs, concepts, and CGI shorts. So it also happened that first gameplay scenes of ILL were dismissed as just that; short films and 3D designs. But at the end of 2021, the first real gameplay was released, and horror fans worldwide were thrilled. And even though details are still scarce, more information about the game has now been released to the public.
The developers have answered a few user questions and presented new details on their official Patreon page. Of course, some users have asked themselves if the game is fake since the rumors keep spreading. The developers know about it and confirm that they are indeed developing ILL.
If they just wanted to make money quickly, they would just post cool animations on Patreon and claim that this is the game. But it's not like that; game development is hard and if the brothers decide that they can't make it, they will say so. But everything is still good. So, in the last year, they have been working mainly on new animations, adding more weapons, and the sound team has started to create all the effects.
The game is also expected to be released for the PC and on the Xbox and PlayStation consoles, thanks to Unreal Engine 5. Gameplay-wise, you can look forward to survival horror with some action in the Soviet Union. However, the developers emphasize that there won't be any action like in Doom. We imagine it more like Dead Space or Resident Evil.
Also a few new pictures of one of the elaborated creatures were published by the developers:
YouTuber MathChief has summarized some of the information in a video:
There is no further information, but the developers seem to post more frequently on Patreon now. We will keep you updated and are curious to see what else the Vdovenko brothers have in store for us.
