A good three months before the official release of Sons of The Forest, YouTuber Farket got to spend a few hours in Endnight Games' new horror vision. Farket reports on his extremely positive experience, which, as he claims, even kids will love.
What's going on? As one of the first testers, YouTuber Farket has already been allowed to play five hours of Sons of The Forest (The Forest 2). In his latest video, he explains as much as possible without breaking the NDA:
The YouTuber doesn't say exactly what he saw and played. He merely shares his impressions in his video. He only addresses the often postponed release and says that the current date of February 23, 2023, is set in stone. In addition, he reports that every single change is a positive continuation and a solid evolution of The Forest. This includes the graphics. He says the horror game looks significantly better than its predecessor. Also, significantly better than the first trailers for Sons of The Forest suggest. Farket also gives a cryptic hint and says:
The game will be really popular with kids. As weird as that sounds: How the building works... Kids will love it!
Now you're probably thinking of all the horror scenarios and monsters in the game. But Sons of The Forest will once again feature a "Peaceful" mode, without any mutants. Here, kids could focus entirely on surviving in the forest and building cool bases, villages, and other structures.
The YouTuber is particularly excited about "features he's never seen in other games." He teases these mysterious features in the background with a mutant wearing a golden mask who lifts and examines fallen comrades. Snapping in front of a real teammate's face can also be seen. To this day, we don't know what's behind either aspect of The Forest 2. Farket himself only says that the unspecified features are very well done.
Why are the developers radio silent? Farket asked the Endnight Games team why they communicate so little to the outside world. According to their own statements, they are simply not interested in the fame that comes with being a well-known developer. They want to focus on making Sons of The Forest an all-around successful survival horror game.
