Besides spells and potions, you can also use certain plants to weaken your opponents in battle in the wizardry RPG Hogwarts Legacy. One of them is the mandrake.
In total, there are three different plants in Hogwarts Legacy that you can equip like spells or potions. The slot that shows you which plant or tool you have equipped is displayed at the bottom left of the screen, to the right of the mini-map. The three plants you can equip there are:
- The Mandrake
- The Chinese Chomping Cabbage
- The Venomous Tentacula
The Mandrake is a plant that emits extremely loud screams as soon as the roots of the plant leave the ground. In Hogwarts Legacy, you can use mandrakes to stun and damage nearby enemies. How and where you can find mandrakes, we show you in our guide.

Growing Mandrakes in Hogwarts Legacy
Just like the Venomous Tentacula, you can also grow the Mandrake itself in the Room of Requirement. You can also buy the seeds for it from Beatrice Green in the Dogweed and Deathcap store in Hogsmeade. The seeds for mandrakes cost 800 galleons. Again, cultivation is the same as for the Venomous Tentacula. Once you have purchased seeds from Beatrice Green, the seeds remain permanently unlocked and you never need to spend gold on Mandrakes again.
In addition, Mandrakes are much easier to plant than the poisonous Venomous Tentacula, because you can use any size pot for a Mandrake. Once you plant the seed, you can harvest the full-grown mandrake after ten minutes.
Buy Mandrakes in Hogwarts Legacy
Of course, you can also buy mandrakes directly from Dogweed and Deathcap in Hogsameade. You have to invest 500 Galleons per piece. So again, in the long run you’ll pay a lot more if you buy the finished plants. Invest a little more in the beginning. Get as many seeds as you can and equip your Room of Requirement with as much growing space as possible.
This approach requires some time at first to farm the necessary change. In the medium term, however, you will earn much more for the same amount of gold.
