Wizards and witches can learn various useful spells in Hogwarts Legacy. One of them is the well-known and popular Wingardium Leviosa, with which the user can levitate and move inanimate objects in the air.
What’s going on? If you want to use a spell in Hogwarts Legacy, you have to learn it first. Wingardium Leviosa, which allows you to levitate objects, is no exception. We’ll tell you what you need to do to learn this spell in our guide.
Hogwarts Legacy: Completing Professor Garlick’s Tasks, Learning Wingardium Leviosa
What do I need to do to learn Wingardium Leviosa? While you unlock the Levioso spell fairly early in the game, you’ll have to wait a bit longer for the similar Wingardium Levioso spell. Once you have completed the “Lesson: Herbology” task and met Professor Garlick in the main story, roughly between levels 8 and 10, you will receive new side quests from the plant teacher a little later.
The first sidequest, Poisons Valor, rewards you with the Wingardium Leviosa spell. Your mission is to obtain and “test” a Venemosa Tentacula. That means: you’ll get one of the carnivorous plants and use it.
To do this, simply visit the Hogwarts greenhouse (Flea Flame “Greenhouses” and then through the door), where you’ll find a whole area full of Venemosa Tentacula. Collect a plant and place it on your tool wheel (Playstation: hold L1 and assign; Xbox: hold LB and assign; PC: Tab key).
Alternatively, you can buy Venemosa Tentacula seeds from Beatrice Green in the seed store north of Hogsmeade and grow them yourself at your planting table. The seed costs 1,050 galleons and takes 15 minutes to grow.
Afterward, insert the plant you just collected (press the tool button; PS: L1; Xbox: LB; PC: F). Now you just have to return to Professor Garrick to complete your task and learn the spell.

What does Wingardium Leviosa do and how is it different from Levioso? Wingardium Leviosa allows you to make inanimate objects levitate and move them through space. In this sense, the spell is a kind of advanced version of Levioso.
However, Wingardium Leviosa can only be used on objects, while Levioso also works with living enemies. Thus, both spells have their place in the game, which is why you can use them depending on the situation in combat and for solving puzzles.
Why do I need Wingardium Leviosa at all? Basically, Wingardium Leviosa is not a must if you just want to complete the main story of Hogwarts Legacy. However, the spell makes some of the side quests and puzzles in the game easier, for example the mystery in the Hogwarts bell tower. Besides, the quest will provide you with some easily earned experience points.
