In Hogwarts Legacy, there are a lot of puzzles that you will discover in different ways. The “Cache in the Castle” quest is a side quest that you’ll receive from a schoolmate, and in which you will have to find a secret cache with the help of a treasure map.
How to get this quest: In the Astronomy Wing of the castle, talk to the student Arthur Plummly, who you can recognize by the gray side quest icon above his head, and the map in his hands. During the conversation, he tells you about treasure maps he found, which probably contain more secrets or even treasures. He hands you one of these maps and your treasure hunt begins.
Tip: Use the spell Revelio on a regular basis, so you do not miss out on anything.
How to Find the Three Treasure Map Locations in Hogwarts Legacy
Skeleton on Display
The place where your treasure hunt starts is the exhibited skeleton, which resembles some kind of rhinoceros. To find it, travel to the Wizarding Classroom with the Floo Powder. Head towards the classroom and take the stairs leading down to the right in front of the room. You’re now looking directly at the skeleton on display, which you walk to in order to activate the location. This will enable the next location you have to go to.

Wyvern Well
Go down the marked stairs and then continue with the stairs, that are going downright. Then go straight through the door in front of you into the courtyard. Turn a bit to the left and you can see the Wyvern Fountain. Walk up next to it and position yourself exactly as in the picture below.
The Secret Cache Behind a Painting
Now walk straight ahead through the door, and continue straight ahead until you find yourself standing in a small hall. Run up the stairs until you stand in front of a painting on the wall on the second floor. Now pull the upper handle (marked in the below picture) towards you with Accio and the painting will open. You can also move the box that is standing on the spot as an aid and stand on it. Open the treasure now and collect your reward.
To complete the quest, return to Arthur Plummly and tell him about your treasure hunt and what you found. Congrats, you have successfully completed the quest.
