Scorn is really puzzling: Scorn, the latest horror adventure in the “Alien” style, can do much more than disgusting scenes and a jumpscare-free scary atmosphere. Especially the extensive puzzles stand out from Ebb Software’s eerie work because you always have to keep the big picture in mind here.

Many of the game’s puzzles intertwine so that several small sub-puzzles must be solved to solve one big main puzzle. Our Scorn Guide prevents your trip through the bizarre H.R. Giger world from being disturbed by too long pondering breaks.

All Scorn Puzzles from Act 2-1

Key Puzzle 1

The first puzzle of Act 2 we want to solve in our Scorn Guide is the key console opposite the iron gate of Security Level 1. We’re talking about the middle room, in which you’ll see a dark, heart-like structure with a large eye. When you look at the console, grab the bony key from the corpse to your left. Insert the key into the console.

Two things interest you here: The small pin in the outer ring and the notches in the rings. Use the direction keys to rotate the pin over the notch of the outer ring and select it (mouse click). The pin is now in the notch and can reach the notch of the next ring. You guessed it: repeat this with the remaining notches. After that, when all the notches are on top of each other, turn them back to the original position upwards and press the left mouse button. Done – the fact that nothing visible happens is correct. Exit the console.

“Ovaries” / Hatchery 1

The next station of our Scorn Guide is located behind a corridor near the “dark heart”: an ovary-like installation with red glowing containers or eggs. Pull the lever to your left to summon the elevator when you’re in front of it. Ride up, exit the room, and walk into the vein-like tunnel to the right.

Use the small lever, select the middle tunnel via the direction keys and run through it – past the fan and up to the inactive hatchery. Pull the three hoses out of the machine in the passage on the left. Now go back to the stopped fan and run along the passage behind it.

Key Puzzle 2, 3 and 4

When you reach another room, you’ll see a key console above on the left. Insert the bony key again and repeat the key puzzle mentioned in this Scorn Guide (see above), but one thing is different now: The disks turn automatically. Sometimes you’ll hear something in the apparatus click into place. Note the position of the respective notch when the sound is heard. You must position the pen exactly there and then press the left mouse button at the right moment.

Exit the console when you have proceeded as described in Key Puzzle 1 (again, nothing visible will happen). Turn right and walk down the corridor. Take the elevator down and use both devices there. At the hatchery, take the elevator up again, from where you enter the vein tunnel on the right again. At the end of it, this time, select the left tunnel and go through it.

Go right to the next key console and proceed in the same way as the last one. Turn around and run to the opposite console, which you can now activate – you can’t before. Use the direction keys to turn the hose down to the 2nd tunnel from the right. With a mouse click, you can give the pile of corpses in it an acid bath.

Now enter the cleaned tunnel from the vein tunnel, run through it, and put the key into the last key console. This works exactly like console number 3, but with the rings partially covered. Exit the interaction mode and return to the active hatchery.

Hatchery 2

Stand in front of the device in the screenshot below and insert the bony key into the right console. Exit the right console again and turn to the left one, and a new puzzle will open. With the directional keys Up and Down, you can now turn the key rings on the right in front of you, but not individually. And how can it be otherwise: That’s precisely what you must do to solve the puzzle.

To do this, you use these visible shafts on the left. For example, if you use the left button to move the rings one stop to the left, the first ring will be stuck in the shaft, and you can rotate the remaining rings independently. In this way, you must align the rings as shown in the screenshot.

After that, move the rings to the left again so that all contact points light up brightly (you’ll have to turn the foremost ring upwards a few more times to do this). Exit the interaction mode and operate the newly appeared console directly ahead.

Iron Gate Security Level 1

Yes, the second act is a bit longer, but you’ve almost reached our Scorn Guide’s end. Return to the iron gate mentioned at the beginning with security level 1. You now have a “key card” in your inventory that you can use to open the lock. Follow the path behind the gate until you see another iron gate on the right. Open it, ride down on the platform and just follow the paths until after another iron gate, you are standing in a larger cave, which strongly resembles the cave from Act 1-1.
