V Rising: How to Get Leather for Better Armor

In vampire ARPG V Rising you need plenty of leather for better gear. In our guide, we tell you how to craft leather, what you require for it, and when you unlock the recipe.

How to Get Leather in V Rising

At the beginning of the game, you will get a lot of animal skins by killing wolves, bears, or deer. But first, you have to process the animal skin further to make leather out of it. To do this, you need to build the Tannery.

In short:

• Open V-Blood window (K) to track and defeat Keely the Frost Archer.
• Unlock tannery and build in your base.
• 160 Animal Skin now produces 1 Leather in the Tannery.

Open the V-Blood Window and Track Keely the Forst Archer

Before you can craft leather, you must first hunt one of the V-Blood bosses. Keely the Frost Archer is a level 20 boss, and after sucking her blood, you will unlock the tannery.

Tracking Keely the Frost Archer: The most important boss for you now is not the Alpha Wolf, which gives you a cool wolf form that lets you travel faster, but “Keely the Frost Archer”. You can track Keely and then fight her. She roams the woods and occasionally fights other enemies. If you go solo, wait until she is weakened from such a fight and then attack her.

Once you've defeated her, you'll not only get a cool new ability but also the recipe for the tannery and leather.

Build Tannery and Craft Leather in V Rising

How to build the tannery: You can now build the tannery in your base. You can find it in the construction menu under “Production > Refining”. The Tannery will cost you 8 Planks and 160 Rugged Hide, which you should already have. Otherwise, you can simply use wood to make the boards in the sawmill and get the Rugged Hide from deers, wolves, and other small animals in the area.

How to Craft Leather Now: You can now easily create leather in V Rising at the Tannery. All you have to do is interact with the tannery and pack Rugged Hide into it. For every 16 Rugged Hide, 1 leather is produced. The process takes a little time, so feel free to build 2 to 3 production sites to speed up the process.

What you need Leather in V Rising for: You will need the leather primarily for better equipment, tools, or weapons. But other buildings, decorations, or parts of your castle also need leather.
