The story of the final season 11 of The Walking Dead has been published on Twitter. The channel of The Walking Dead World has at least showed the initial situation of our heroes at the start of the upcoming season.
This is known: the Twitter channel "The Walking Dead World" published a part of the plot from the final 11th season of The Walking Dead a few hours ago. There is talk of famine and the impending end for everyone. But there is also a solution.
That was already known: The final season of The Walking Dead ended with the deaths of Alpha and Beta, the leaders of the Whisperers. But that's not everything, because Eugene, Kimiko, Princess and Ezekiel finally met the Commonwealth. It's a huge group with over 50,000 people, its own military and a government.
Season 11 of The Walking Dead is going to put that group in the spotlight, so far, so good. But the published synopsis (summary of the plot) reveals the main strand of the story.
Alexandria goes under: After the war with the Whisperers, the fall of the kingdom and the Hilltop fire, there are many refugees. They have to be accommodated and Ocean Side offers no help either. This group has been swallowed up by the ground - or rather the ocean - since season 9.
So Alexandria is the only standing colony, whereby the Whisperers have also done a lot of damage here. In season 11, the refugees and their fate are in the foreground. The published synopsis reveals exactly:
"Now all who live in Alexandria struggle to refortify it and feed its increasing number of residents, which include the survivos from (...) the kingdom and Hilltop. Along with Maggie and her new group, the Wardens. Alexandria has more people than it can manage to feed and protect. Their situation is dire as tensions heat up over past events and self-preservation rises to the surface within the ravaged walls.
They must secure more food while they attempt to restore Alexandria before it collapses like countless other communities they have come across throughout the years. But where and how? (...)"
The most interesting thing here is of course where in the last sentence. This suggests that it won't be Alexandria, but the Commonwealth, that will provide shelter and food for our heroes in Season 11 of The Walking Dead.

If we compare the published story plot of The Walking Dead season 11 with that of the comics, one thing becomes clear: there are few similarities here. In the comics, it is Michonne who rides to the Commonwealth with some comrades and finds a new home and her daughter here.
Later many settlers from Alexandria followed her to this location. Including Rick, who survived to the bitter end in the comics. Here our group is starting a revolution together with the people of the Commonwealth. The reason for this is the cruel ruler Pamela Milton, who forces her residents into box-like structures. The more valuable a resident is, the better off they are.
In the end there is a coup, the Commonwealth becomes a republic and Rick is shot by Milton's son. Then 20 years pass and Carl, who also survived, starts a family. All over the country there are safe zones that are zombie-free.
The end of the series could at least strike the parallel here. Let's say Maggie takes over the Commonwealth and competes against CRM in the upcoming The Walking Dead movies. Here Rick shows up again, the showrunners have already confirmed that several times, after all, it's his three films.
Season 11 Release: The final season of The Walking Dead will be aired on August 22nd 2021. Then we got 24 Episodes until the title screen rolls for the last time.
