On June 03, 2022, the developers of Escape From Tarkov announce something big: Fans are hotly speculating, based on an official image, that it must be the map Terminal. We now reveal how likely that is and what could be announced instead.
What's going on? On Twitter, Tarkov developer Battlestate Games shared a video link that leads to a YouTube video titled "Death is in the air." If you follow the link, you'll end up at a scheduled premiere. Today, June 03, 2022, at 10:45 p.m., the video will be released. The original thumbnail also showed something very eye-catching:
What does the thumbnail show? No time to lose, with the elephant through the window: The thumbnail of the video showed a pixelated map with an orange stripe at the lower right edge of the image. No one knew what that was supposed to be for a long time, until a fan superimposed the map from World Map of Escape From Tarkov on it. So the thumbnail obviously shows the Map Terminal. For many fans it is clear that the new map is announced here.
Thanks to a post by chief developer Nikita Buyanov, we know that the Streets of Tarkov map will be released earlier than expected. Also, the map Lighthouse is still missing the namesake lighthouse, which is supposed to be introduced with an update. If the rumors turn out to be true, we expect a teaser for the Terminal Map for Tarkov at most.
What does the orange stripe mean? It is further said that the orange stripe is just the Tarkov logo. However, others believe that a missile could be depicted here. Thus, the warhead of the rocket could represent an upcoming wipe that fans are eagerly awaiting.
The possible missile could also represent chemical weapons. For a long time, the developer has also wanted to implement environmental hazards in Tarkov. What would be more obvious than a threat from toxic zones. The survival game DayZ already showed that such zones can work with a current update.
From the lore texts of the last events, we can read that the supposed leader of the cultists has disappeared from the city of Tarkov. Lightkeeper, the in-raid merchant on Lighthouse, has made the turn. As you may know, the cultists are worshipping an EMP that caused a blue explosion.
Couldn't it be that they are now trying to repeat this event? An EMP could also be a good explanation for a wipe. The cultists can afford it after the players have provided their funding.

New thumbnail shows a poem: There is now a new thumbnail for the video Death is in the air. On it you can find several cryptic notes, which together form a poem:
You thought you escaped,
So far from your fate,
you made a mistake,

We'll probably only find out what really awaits us in the end tonight at 10:45 p.m. on the developers' YouTube channel. If you miss it, don't worry: we'll provide this article with a detailed update!
