According to official sources, the new Escape From Tarkov map, appropriately named Streets of Tarkov, will be released in a few months.

What happened? The chief developer (Nikita Buyanov) of Escape Form Tarkov announced via social media how long it will take until the release of the new map Streets. Not to the day, but he gives a pleasant time frame. I'll tell you in advance: Use your summer vacation well!

When will Streets of Tarkov be released? This is what Nikita Buyanov says

What do we know? As a Tarkov fan, you have been waiting for the new Streets of Tarkov map for a long time. The ambitious city map has been in development for more than 4 years. You were able to see Streets for the first time 2 years ago. In 2020, the developers posted a first teaser, but without a release date. Since then, you have to be patient, both for the map itself and for a release announcement for Streets of Tarkov.

This period has been announced: Nikita Buyanov finally has new and good news for all Tarkov fans in a tweet (via twitter.com). Thus, he writes that the regular Streets hears questions that fans ask about the release. Therefore, he wants to give the players a first date already. So Buyanov writes that the first version of Streets of Tarkov should be released as early as the summer of 2022. The exact wording here was:

"the most asked question - when is the streets coming out? It's being done. We hope to see the first iteration before autumn."

When will there be new info? Last year, developer Battlestate Games released a new teaser for Summer Games Fest. This live event takes place every year in the summer, more precisely at the beginning of June. This year, however, there will probably be no new trailer for Summer Games Fest.

There is already a video on the developers' YouTube channel with a premiere date for June 03, 22:00 (CET). The video is called "Death in the Air" and the community is betting heavily on a new Streets teaser.

What awaits you on the Streets of Tarkov map?

Streets will be a map located in the heart of the eponymous city of Tarkov. Instead of forests, factories or Eastern Bloc romance, you can expect a metropolitan landscape of a very modern city. Along the streets are skyscrapers with fancy facades, parks, playgrounds, backyards and the like.

The houses themselves are almost completely walkable, according to the developer. For fans of house fights, Streets is thus a dream. But that's not all by a long shot. The first trailers suggest that an APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) is on the loose in Streets. Whether it is hostile at all or what purpose the armored and armed vehicle serves is still unclear.

How big is Streets? The new Tarkov map could be the largest map in the entire game when it is released. Initial estimates from insiders and YouTubers like NoiceGuy suggest that Streets of Tarkov will be around four times the size of Interchange. The layout is also said to resemble a large L-shape.

Last but not least, we also know that there are tons of details on the map, which the first teasers have already shown: New trailer for Streets of Tarkov from Summer Game Fest.
