Developer Battlestate Games has announced maintenance work for Escape from Tarkov for December 25th and will shut down the servers for it. We’ll tell you how long the servers will stay offline.
Why maintenance work? After every major patch, there are always problems that need to be solved by hotfixes. After the release of version 12.12 a few weeks ago, there were apparently minor performance issues in the new Lighthouse area. Maintenance work usually covers the following topics:
- Subsequent hotfixes for updates
- Update of the server software
- Alignment of the server to client version
In this case, the developer Battlestate Games currently does not provide any information about what the hotfix with version number 12.12.10 contains exactly.
Update December 25th 15:00 MSK: Battlestate Games have published some information via Twitter.
Fixed:
- Fixed a bug that displayed a Scav instead of a PMC on the stats screen after the end of an offline raid.
- The animation of the transition to a blocked state for MP133, KS-23, M870, and M590 has been corrected.
- The barrel of the USP pistol now heats up correctly.
- Fixed a bug that prevented Scav bots from using first aid kits collected during a raid.
Added:
- New year events.
- New equipment and barter items.
This is the event: A peaceful Santa Claus bot handing out presents can appear in any location except the Labs. He won’t interfere in firefights but will attack in response if you injure him. If you kill him as either a PMC or a Scav, you will get significant reputational damage with Fence.
Escape from Tarkov Server offline: How long does maintenance take?
When will it continue? The developer Battlestate Games announced with a tweet today on December 25th that the maintenance work will begin soon. So you don’t have to worry that the servers are broken or simply down. The servers are going back online today, and these are the exact times:
- Start of EFT maintenance work: 11:00 MSK, 12/25/2021
- End of EFT maintenance work: 15:00 MSK, 12/25/2021
Are there any delays? It is currently not known whether the maintenance work will be extended. Developer Battlestate Games explains, however, that the four hours are only a rough schedule and the maintenance work will be extended if necessary.
Tomorrow, December 25, at 11:00 MSK we are planning to install patch 0.12.12.10. The installation will take approximately 4 hours, but may be extended if required. The game will not be accessible during this period. #EscapefromTarkov
