A few days ago, there was a huge patch for the wizardry RPG. However, Hogwarts Legacy not only introduced performance improvements and bug fixes but also secretly blocked the unforgivable curses for one boss fight.
Here's the deal: In Hogwarts Legacy, you can choose from a variety of spells. Most of them, of course, you already know from the Harry Potter books and movies. Even the three unforgivable curses are included in the game. However, the new update now restricts their use.
What exactly happened? If you play Hogwarts Legacy on the PlayStation 5, you can complete an exclusive quest that is only available for that console. The quest in question is "Mind your own business." This quest, which you can start in Hogsmeade, has a boss fight for you at the end, more precisely, you'll have to face Cassandra Mason in a duel.
For such fights, you can usually also use the death curse Avada Kedavra, which will defeat the boss in no time. However, with the new update, Hogwarts Legacy has made sure that you can no longer use this curse against Cassandra. You'll now have to fight her with other spells from your repertoire.
Strangely enough, you won't find this change regarding the fight against Cassandra Mason in the patch notes. There you only read that a bug was fixed that occurred when using Avada Kedavra in the fight against Cassandra.
