Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 officially launches on October 28 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. However, you can also start the campaign in Early Access over a week earlier. We’ll tell you what you need to do so.
Here’s what’s going on: as Activision Blizzard announced in their roadmap in mid-August, you can play Modern Warfare 2’s campaign in Early Access before the official release on October 28, 2022. However, not everyone will be allowed to. We’ll tell you what you need to do and what to expect.
How to Play the Modern Warfare 2 Campaign in Early Access
The Early Access to the Modern Warfare 2 campaign will already start next Thursday, October 20. However, there is no exact time for the launch yet.
To access the Early Access, you only have to pre-order Modern Warfare 2 digitally. It doesn’t matter which version it is. If you have pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 physically, you will unfortunately not be able to enjoy the early access.
If you play Modern Warfare 2’s campaign, you’ll also be able to pick up some rewards that you can also take into the multiplayer. These include operators, a weapon blueprint, extra XP, and emblems.
What content is in Modern Warfare 2 Early Access?
The single-player campaign follows the story of 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot, and you’ll meet familiar faces like Captain Price and Soap MacTavish. During Early Access, you’ll already have access to the entire campaign and can play through it without restrictions.
That’s how long Modern Warfare 2’s campaign is.
There is no statement from Activision Blizzard about the official length of the campaign. However, it is believed that the campaign should take around 6 hours to complete and a bit longer if you take all the side missions.
