Modders have released a new map for DayZ called "Eden" and this map takes you to a tropical jungle for the first time in the history of DayZ Standalone! We'll tell you what to expect on the new DayZ map.
What's going on? Finally, as an active PC DayZ player, you can explore a new map, a new world. This time your trip will take you into the jungle. Just a few days ago, we reported about possible new maps that the DayZ community would like to see the most. The 2nd place was a jungle map for DayZ, but now we are all waiting for the 1st place even more eagerly!
This is the map Eden: Let's take a look at the map together, the pure hard facts about the new map Eden. The map is 15x15 km so 225 km² in size. Theoretically the same size as Chernarus, but Eden is an island and surrounded by much more water. All in all, the map consists of an archipelago with two large islands and many small side islands. While the eastern island is covered by mountain ranges and dense jungle, you'll find many fields and picturesque beaches in the west.

How does the map works? We played on the Zero Eden server, which is always well attended with 40 players at a time. The queue can be quite long, though. But if you make it to the server, you can expect DayZ like you've never seen it before. Speaking of "like never before", Eden also comes with dinosaurs as exciting enemies!
Here's a little anecdote from my 3-hour play session so far: started on the west side of the island. A few villages looted, zombies killed and players dodged, I arrive at an urgently needed well. A player pretends to be friendly, but then aims at me. The battle continues through the backyards of the small tropical town until a storm hits. I hear a shot and run towards it. Armed with an M16, I search for my opponent until I come upon a clearing. In the middle of the palm trees swaying in the wind and the tropical-colored undergrowth, a military camp appears. Skirmish here, gunshot there -- I'm knocked unconscious, wake up, and manage to save myself on the beach, under the bridge leading to the eastern island.
If you didn't have a first-rate Vietnam movie in mind after reading that, it can only be me! Because the atmosphere on the DayZ map Eden is thick to cut. Rarely has a new DayZ map been as much fun as Eden.

In order to play on one of the DayZ Eden servers, you'll need to play on your PC first and foremost. This is because the new map is not an official content update. Rather, Eden is a map created by fans. If you meet the PC requirement, you can join the server in the DZSA launcher, which you download separately. To do so, simply click on your desired server and press the triangular play button. All the necessary mods should now be downloaded. Once that's done, click the button again and off you go!
