The survival MMO Conan Exiles offers a large number of weapons, and it’s easy to lose track of them. We tell you from each weapon category which is the best.
These weapon categories exist: In Conan Exiles, there are basically 20 weapon categories. However, these also include bombs, siege weapons, shields, or torches. We’ll focus on the essentials in this list and divide it into these 13 categories:
- One Handed Axe
- One Handed Mace
- One Handed Short Sword
- One Handed Spear
- One Handed Sword
- Two Handed Dagger
- Two Handed Great Axe
- Two Handed Katana
- Two HandedMace
- Two Handed Spear
- Two Handed Sword
- Bow
- Throwing Knife
These are the best weapons in Conan Exiles
The best weapons in Conan Exiles are, of course, the end-game weapons, which you can’t always craft yourself, but find in dungeons or from world bosses. We also don’t always go by the highest attack values, but also by armor penetration, weight and additional values like bleeding damage.
One Handed Axe: Yog’s Touch
Yog’s Touch is a legendary one-handed axe for level 60. This religious object, inscribed with sacred runes, was snatched from the undead hands of the Priest King’s shadow. The essence of Yog trapped in this axe corrupts any target it hits.
- Damage: 51
- Armor Penetration: 28 %
- Weight: 4.55
- Effects: Corrupt, Shatter Shield, Cripple.
- Location: Potential drop from the Servant of the Priest King.
Why it’s a good weapon: Yog’s Touch, as a one-handed axe, is a fast strength weapon that quickly destroys shields, has moderate armor penetration, and cripples your enemies. You can permanently weaken opponents with the Corruption effect, which is often helpful in PvP.
One Handed Mace: Ghoul Bone
Surprisingly, this twisted ghoul thighbone is quite well balanced. Its heavy weight and chunky head are also beneficial for energetic head-butting, making it an unsightly but capable weapon.
The mace is capable of breaking bone through armor and shattering helmets. It is a preferred weapon against heavily armored enemies, bypassing their armor’s protection through sheer force.
- Damage: 56
- Armor Penetration: 27 %.
- Weight: 4.55
- Effects: Shatter Shield, Cripple
- Location: Random World Drop
Why it’s a good weapon: The Ghoul Bone doesn’t look very good, but it has some of the highest damage of all maces and good armor penetration. Typical of a blunt weapon, it’s good at breaking through shields and crippling enemies.
One Handed Short Sword: Render
In primitive cultures, short swords are merely ridiculed as knives. However, in Hyborian cultures such as Aquilonia or Nemedia, where shield walls and cavalry charges have become a reality of combat, short swords are prized for their ability to stab and thrust into spaces where no longsword could ever be wielded.
A typical foot soldier in the armies of Aquilonia carries a spear and a short sword in addition to his shield – and when the first charge of battle is over and the slow roll of the meat grinder begins, it is the short swords that decide the day.
Because they are smaller and weigh less than other weapons, short swords are also faster to use and consume less stamina than their larger counterparts.
- Damage: 64
- Armor Penetration: 19 %
- Weight: 2.63
- Effects: –
- Location: Random World-Drop
Why it’s a good weapon: The one-handed short sword “Render”, like the one-handed short sword “Bite of Shadow” and “Short Sword of Prince Kraxus”, is hard to find, but all three offer the same status values. For a short sword, they offer high damage and moderate armor penetration.
One Handed Spear: Riptide
An inscription reads, “Do not throw it away, or it will be lost forever.”
- Damage: 57
- Armor Penetration: 18 %.
- Weight: 1.00
- Effects: Water Breathing
- Location: Potential drop from the Winged Death boss in the nameless city.
Why it’s a good weapon: Contrary to what the inscription suggests, you can throw the spear and collect it again without hesitation. The damage dealt is high for a one-handed weapon, and the armor penetration is rather mediocre. But the water breathing is a unique effect that hardly any other weapon has.
One Handed Sword: The Predatory Blade
The blade of the sword is engraved with the words “Swinging Wildly”.
- Damage: 97
- Armor Penetration: 9 %
- Weight: 3.50
- Effects: Cripple
- Location: Potential drop from the boss “The Brute” in the nameless city.
Why it’s a good weapon: The Predatory Blade has the highest damage of any one-handed weapon. It only has an armor penetration of 9%, but the nearly 100 damage makes up for it. Only with the strong attack does the weapon deal only 1 damage, but can thereby be used to stun enemies if you attach a blunt weapon attachment.
Two Handed Dagger: Gremlinfangs
These daggers penetrate metal and flesh alike, piercing armor and dealing additional damage to the enemy.
- Damage: 47
- Armor Penetration: 20 %
- Weight: 2.45
- Effects: Bleed, Cripple
- Location: Random World Drop
Why it’s a good weapon: Real rogues use daggers. You are nimble with them and deal out high bleeding damage. The Gremlinfangs have a high level of damage and moderate armor penetration. The quick blows with this weapon are fatal when used correctly.
Two Handed Great Axe: The Beak
The Beak is a two-handed axe made mostly of bone with a tip that resembles a beak. The story of this axe is that of one of the children of the Jhil, known as Kryll’ixth’arus. As a cub, Kryll’ixth’arus was stolen from Afghulistan by a band of raiders and sold to a menagerie traveling the Silk Road. Kryll’ixth’arus learned to fight with human weapons and ultimately destroyed his owners. He disappeared without a trace, but his axe remained.
- Damage: 55
- Armor Penetration: 49 %
- Weight: 5.25
- Effects: Bleed
- Location: Random World Drop.
Why it’s a good weapon: The legendary two-handed axe doesn’t play in the top league with 55 damage, but the 49% armor penetration immediately shreds any defense. It is especially feared in PvP.
Two Handed Katana: Musashi’s Black Blade
Masterfully crafted in the Eastern Kingdoms, the metal from which the blade is forged has been folded several million times. It is the epitome of craftsmanship, imbued with the soul of its creator.
- Damage: 60
- Armor Penetration: 13 %.
- Weight: 4.38
- Effects: Bleed
- Location: Potential drop in legendary chests.
Why it’s a good weapon: Musashi’s black blade is one of the best katanas. Its heavy blows provide high bleeding damage and its fast attacks have a moderate range. Katanas also have a deadly special attack that can hit multiple enemies.
Two Handed Mace: Abyssal Mace
The Abyssal Mace only came into the game with Update 3.0 and can be summoned as a spellcaster. An ancient and fearsome two-handed mace given to its wielder by an unknown demon, with the agreement that blood will be spilled with it.
- Damage: 72
- Armor Penetration: 47 %
- Weight: 0.10
- Effects: Insatiable
- Location: Can be summoned at a Circle of Power.
Why it’s a good weapon: After you successfully summon the weapon, it only lasts for an hour. The timer passes as long as you have the weapon actively equipped. Its damage is particularly high, and the armor penetration is among the best Conan Exiles offers. The low weight of 0.10 is also remarkable. The effect “Insatiable” increases the timer as soon as you kill an enemy with the weapon.
Two Handed Spear: Mordlun
A powerful weapon that comes from the undead hands of the Warlord’s Shadow. This weapon will corrupt anyone who gets their hands on it, but it seems to somehow protect its wielder from such bad effects.
- Damage: 56
- Armor Penetration: 9%.
- Weight: 4.38
- Effects: Reach, Corrupt, Bleed, Cripple.
- Location: Random World Drop.
Why it’s a good weapon: With this weapon you’ll keep your enemies at a distance, add bleeding to them and reduce their stats thanks to the Corruption. The damage is moderate and the armor penetration is hardly worth mentioning. However, the effects make Mordlun the best spear in the game.
Two Handed Sword: Sword of Crom
This sword wasn’t made for or by Crom, but it might as well be one. It’s incredibly taxing to wield and deals tremendous damage with each strike.
- Damage: 91
- Armor Penetration: 22 %.
- Weight: 5.25
- Effects: Cripple
- Location: Potential drop from Guardian of the Flame, The Commander, The Watcher, or The Gravewalker from the nameless city.
Why it’s a good weapon: The Sword of Crom is the strongest two-handed sword and deals enormous damage. However, it only offers one effect with Cripple and its heavy weight makes it cumbersome to wield. Should you still land hits, your opponents will see black.
Bow: Abyssal Bow
The Abyssal Bow only came into the game with Update 3.0 and can be summoned as a spellcaster. A fearsome weapon formed from an unknown material and given to its bearer by a mysterious denizen of the Abyss.
- Damage: 28
- Armor Penetration: 9 %
- Weight: 0.10
- Effects: Insatiable
- Location: Can be summoned at a Circle of Power.
Why it’s a good weapon: Similar to the Abyssal Mace, the bow is also very strong and, above all, very light. Even though there are stronger bows in Conan Exiles, the Abyssian Bow offers a special advantage: you don’t need arrows. The arrows are simply summoned and don’t cost resources, energy or space. As with the flask, however, a timer increases again with each enemy you kill.
Throwing Knife: Akbitanan Throwing Knife
Held in the free hand, these knives can be used to stab enemies and hurl them in the face in an emergency.
- Damage: 57
- Armor Penetration: 0 %
- Weight: 1.00
- Effects: –
- Location: Can be looted from the End of All Hope, located on the backside of the Skittering Cave in the Banished Lands or north of the Gates of X’chotl (north) on the Isle of Siptah.
Why it’s a good weapon: Since there is little difference in armor penetration, weight, or effects among throwing weapons, we have listed the Akbitan Throwing Knives here because they do the most damage.
