To unlock Mirabel in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you need the golden doorknob. Our guide shows you where to find the golden doorknob and unlock Mirabel.
Here’s what it’s all about: Find the golden doorknob and bring Mirabel to the village with the help of Merlin. Mirabel is, along with the snowman Olaf, a new character from the “A Festival of Friendship” update that went online on February 16, 2023.
Find the Golden Doorknob
The golden doorknob, which you can use to unlock Mirabel, is located in the peaceful meadow. You can also easily find the golden doorknob on the path leading from the peaceful meadow to the shimmering beach.
Important: It is not the way with the stairs that leads to your destination, but the one without.
Collect the doorknob, and Merlin’s quest “The Golden Doorknob” will start. Then bring the doorknob to Merlin, who will give you three tasks to complete so that Mirabel can enter the Valley.

The tasks you have to complete are not hard and are done quickly, so don’t worry.
These are the tasks:
- Take pictures with three different villagers.
- Give two different villagers their favorite gifts.
- Have daily conversations with two different villagers.
After completing these tasks, go back to Merlin, who will give you the next task: He needs 500 Dreamlight to continue. You can get Dreamlight by doing the daily tasks or the longer-term ones in the Dreamlight tab. You can also make Dreamlight from Dream Shards on the workbench.

Place Mirabel’s house in Dreamlight Valley
After giving Merlin the 500 Dreamlight, you can place Mirabel’s house, the “Mini-Casita”, in the village. Unlike the previous houses you had to place, you don’t have to pay Scrooge McDuck 10,000 gold coins to build the Mini-Casita since it can be placed ready. Once you place Mirabel’s house in the Valley, it will enter your village via the fountain.
