Season 2 of Warzone 2 and thus DMZ has started and brings the new map Ashika Island, where you can find seven new weapon cases. We'll tell you where you can get all the weapon cases and what rewards await you.
What is it about? Weapon cases in Warzone 2's DMZ mode always promise cool rewards and weapon unlocks. Find all seven weapon cases on Al Mazrah and you'll unlock the M-13b. On Building 21 you can find six cases that unlock the Chimera. On Ashika Island you can now also find seven cases and where you can get them from we will tell you now. What follows are the contents of the guide:
Where are the weapon cases located? You won't find the weapon cases on Ashika Island in different locations, as it is the case on Al Mazrah. To extract a weapon case, you always have to go to the fortress "Tsuki Castle" in the middle of the map. Here you'll encounter heavily armored enemies and the new boss Bombmaker.
Note that a maximum of 18 players can start at 6 different spawns on Ashika Island. Memorize all the spawn points on Ashika Island to always know if you are the first player at the castle or who you can expect there.
This is how you get into the castle: The first line of defense consists of a Wheelson robot that patrols along the outer wall. If it detects you, it will immediately open fire on you. The thin walls of the castle offer little protection. If Wheelson has you in his sights, and you dart behind one of the walls, he will continue shooting at your position for a while.
However, you can easily take out Wheelson: Use the thermite grenade to do it. The thermite will stick to Wheelson and damage him over time. Meanwhile, you can hide behind suitable cover without being seen. Once the angry baby tank is defeated, you just have to hack it to gain access to Tsuki Castle. Before that, it will remain locked.
Disable the cameras: The location of the weapons case on Ashika Island, is under special surveillance -- literally. That's because Bomb Maker's second defense is cameras in the courtyard. If you are spotted by one of these cameras, "spotted" will appear at the bottom of your screen and a wave of powerful enemies will appear.
To prevent the cameras from spotting you, you need to destroy them. You can do this by firing a few bullets at them. Once you've deactivated the cameras standing in your way, you can make your way to the keep.
How to defeat Boss Bombmaker: The last step is to defeat the new boss Bombmaker. In a previous leak, he was called Trapper. The name didn't stay, but the mechanics did. Bombmaker places explosives and trip traps all over the fortress. So you have to move carefully through the castle and fight your way to the top. On the top floor, Bombmaker barricades himself with some guards who are equipped with ballistic shields, among other things.
By the way, Bombmaker is the weakest boss in DMZ and can hardly take more damage than a normal enemy with armor. So just throw all the grenades you have into the boss room. Then clean up the rest with your weapon. Once you've killed Bombmaker, he'll drop the weapons case, which you now just have to extract.
More about DMZ |
Underneath the entire map of Ashika Island is a tunnel system filled with water. You will find access to this tunnel system just inside Tsuki Castle. In the basement, you'll find a hole in the ground and a zipline that allows you to rappel down. But beware, you'll encounter a Juggernaut down here who guards the boat docks. Once you've killed the juggernaut, grab a boat and head for the exit at Port Ashika. Another advantage is that you don't reveal whether you are above or below ground, despite being marked for all players.
