If you want to learn Expelliarmus in Hogwarts Legacy, all you really need to do is follow the main story. Because this spell is so important for the fight against the Dark Arts, you actually have to learn it to progress in the story. But beware: Spoilers to the story of Hogwarts Legacy follow!

How exactly do I learn Expelliarmus? Professor Hecat, the Dark Arts teacher, will teach you both the Incendio and Expelliarmus spells at Professor Fig’s request. However, you must first prove that you are ready to learn these spells.
To do this, you’ll need to complete the secondary quest called “Professor Hecat’s Task 2”. You’ll receive this assignment after visiting the Forbidden Ward of Hogwarts. Your task now is to prove your skill in combat:
- Successfully evade enemy attacks using Dodge Roll (10).
- Cast Incendio on enemies (5).
You can easily fulfill these conditions on the side by simply following the main story and completing the quest “The Trials of Merlin”. This quest will give you plenty of opportunities to fight several enemies. By the way, you don’t need to pay special attention to timing when using the dodge roll – just roll away from your enemies’ attacks ten times and you’ll have completed the task within a few minutes.
Now you just have to return to Hogwarts to Professor Hecat, who will teach you the Expelliarmus spell. If you want to practice your newly acquired skills, you can do so on the magic doll in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom or in the Dueling Club.
