The Modern Warfare 2 beta has started and directly presents the new perk system in the new Call of Duty. To help you quickly get started with the new system and always choose the best Perks, we have written this article for you!
How the new System works: Modern Warfare 2 has jettisoned the old perk system from past Call of Duty installments. Now you don’t simply choose from a number of perks, but are bound to packages into which the abilities are divided. From those, you can choose the following:
- Basic Perks – 2x Perks
- Bonus Perks – 1x Perk
- Ultimate Perks – 1x Perk

What is the difference in the Perks? Modern Warfare 2’s new perk system is divided into three categories — Basic, Bonus, and Ultimate. Basic Perks will start you off right into the match. Bonus Perks are unlocked after 5 minutes in the match. Ultimate Perks are unlocked last after 8 minutes.
All Basic Perks in MW2 (2022)
Unlocked at match start. You can choose 2x base perks.
- Overkill: Carry second primary weapon in secondary weapon slot.
- Double Time: Longer tactical sprint, run faster ducked.
- Battle Hardened: resistance to glare, stun, gas, shock and other grenades.
- Scavenger: Collect ammo and throwing knives from dead players.
- EOD: Resistance to explosions, reset grenade timers when picked up.
- Tracker: see footprints of enemies, hide kill markers.
- Pitcher: throw further, trajectory is displayed.
- Extra Tactical: Spawn with additional tactical equipment item.
All bonus perks in MW2 (2022)
Unlocked after 5 minutes in the match. You can choose 1x bonus perk.
- Resupply: Spawn with additional lethal equipment item.
- Spotter: See and hack enemy equipment through walls.
- Cold Blooded: Invisible to AI systems, thermal imaging, reconnaissance drones.
- Fast Hands: Faster reload, change weapons, use items.
- Quick Fix: Capturing kills and mission objectives triggers HP regeneration.
- Focus: More stable aiming when hit, hold breath longer.
All Ultimate Perks in MW2 (2022)
Unlocked after 8 minutes in the match. You can choose 1x Ultimate Perk.
- High Alert: Warns the player as soon as he is in the enemy’s sights.
- Ghost: Invisibility for UAVs, radar systems, heartbeat sensors.
- Hardline: Killstreaks cost 1 kill less, Scorestreaks 125 points less.
- Overclock: Second field upgrade received, shorter cooldown.
- Survivor: Instead of dying, the player goes down, can revive himself.
- Bird’s Eye: Larger minimap with precise enemy location for UAVs and radar systems.
