In the survival game Smalland you can tame different animals, such as the gecko, to ride them. Each of the animals or insects has an ability that you can use.
What this guide is about: The gecko is one of the four tameable animals or insects in Smalland. To be able to tame it, you'll have to fulfill Skadi's task of defeating the rhinoceros beetle and bringing Skadi the horn.
Geckos are small yellow lizards that have a white belly and are patterned with black spots. You'll find them exclusively on the beaches of Smalland, where they roam in search of prey. If you get too close or stand too far in their field of vision, they will attack you without mercy.
Weakness: Geckos are sensitive to blade damage, which means you will do the most damage to them with a sword.
What you should know: To tame most animals and insects in Smalland, you need a corresponding treat with which you can feed them. Each animal has its own taste, and the recipes differ from each other.
You will receive the recipe for the gecko treat from Skadi once you bring him the horn of the rhinoceros beetle that you find on the beach. To prepare a gecko treat, you will need these ingredients:
Once you gathered all the ingredients, interact with the cauldron and select Gecko Treat on the left side. Clicking on this will prepare it.

We have highlighted the beach area, where you can find geckos:
Once you have the gecko treats in your inventory, you can start looking for a gecko on the beach. You will also find them in the cave, which you can also find on the beach. Then proceed as follows:
You can heal the damage you did to the gecko by dropping food in front of it. However, the gecko treat does not work for this. After that, you can sit on your gecko and ride off. The special feature of the gecko is that it can swim while you ride it. So he is your boat substitute.
Good to know: If the gecko follows you while you ride up into your tree base, it will also come with you and stand around in your base.
