As the fourth mount, you can tame the damselfly in Smalland. With this small dragonfly, you can fly through the area as long as its stamina lasts. Our guide will show you how to tame it.

How to Get the Damselfly Treat Recipe in Smalland

To get the recipe for the damselfly treat, you have to solve Tuhala's task first: defeat the spider matriarch. After completing Tuhalas Quest, she will give you the clue that the clover key you are looking for is chained to the King Stag Beetle, who lives in a cave in the ruins. After that, your map will be updated, and the stag beetle king will be shown to you as a boss.

How to Defeat the King Stag Beetle

To defeat the King Stag Beetle as efficiently as possible, we have summarized the most important tips of our author, which we collected from our own experience:

1. Get Nuk, Mirmek, or Tuhala to craft you good armor.
2. Brew enough healing potions and, if necessary, energy drinks.
3. Craft iron weapons, even if it takes a long time to get all the materials and build the equipment to produce them; these are the sturdiest weapons and do the most damage. I used a kind of “combination” of an iron sword, an iron hammer, and an iron scythe.
4. Tame yourself a wolf spider, as it will attack the king stag beetle along with you, thus dealing him additional damage and distracting him from you, causing you to take less damage. My wolf spider sacrificed itself for me in the process. [R.i.P. <3]
5. In combat, make sure to block and dodge.

After your victory, collect the clover Key and bring it to the Elder. After you open the chest, take its contents and show it to the Elder, he will give you the next task and the recipe for the damselfly treat.

Prepare the Damselfly Treat in Smalland

For the damselfly treat recipe, you now need to gather the following ingredients:

• 3x Firefly Juice
  • Obtained from defeated fireflies.
• 1x Petal
  • Obtained from felled flowers, such as poppies.
• 2x Seed Oil
  • It is made from seeds on the stone cutter.

Unlike the previous treats, it is not made in the cauldron but in the stone oven.

You can find damselflies on the beach if you pay attention to their blue color to distinguish them from dragonflies. The only place we found a damselfly is marked on the map below. If you look at the marked spot, you should ensure there are no other insects nearby because they will attack the damselfly. If you compete without attackers, you inflict damage on it until the taming command appears, which you then do.

The Tamed Damselfly

As a tamed mount, you can fly on the back of the damselfly, but only if it has enough energy. Unfortunately, it loses its energy quite quickly when flying upwards, so you should take frequent breaks to let it regenerate.

However, starting from a higher point, such as a large tree, it can be used more effectively as a flying mount. Flying up a tree from the ground in one go is currently impossible.
