If the wild life in Sons of the Forest tastes too wild for you, you can also use the good old can opener. Funnily enough, there are three of them on Cannibal Island; we’ll show you where to find them.
Food doesn’t always have to be fresh: Sons of the Forest is somehow a strange survival game. On the one hand it confronts you with a classic stranding scenario on a cannibal island, while on the other hand it gives you a good chunk of modern tools. Telescopic batons with stun guns, chainsaws and 3D printers are just three examples.
So it’s only logical for the developers to serve a basic need of civilized people with can openers. That’s right: There are also three can openers hidden on this 9-kilometer island in the middle of nowhere. This guide will tell you exactly where to look for these vital little helpers.

Sons of the Forest: Here You Can Find All Can Openers
Since Sons of the Forest is about survival, regardless of the technological facilitations, you might think that the can opener has multiple functions. However, this is not the case; you can only open normal cans with the non-equippable tool. However, because there are a lot of them at your new “vacation spot”, it is definitely a tool you want to have in your possession.
As I said, there are currently a total of three can openers in Man-Eater Land. You can find them in the west, in the snowy center, and in the far north of the island. Take a look at the map below.

- Can opener number 1 is located in a small camp near a waterfall. Look for red tents near it.
- Can opener number 2 was placed at the western edge of the snow area. In this case you should also look for tents. The opener is located very close to some smaller boulders.
- Can opener number 3 is waiting for you near a cave on a headland. More precisely, on the beach, between several small stones.
