The Starfield quest "The Best There is" will let you infiltrate the military ship SY-920 floating in space. However, you might miss one of the pieces of evidence the Sysdef wants you to get - so is it possible to return to SY-920?

Here's the deal: As a member of the Crimson Fleet, you'll be assigned several faction quests in Starfield; one of them is an infiltration mission called "The Best There is". In it, you're supposed to get the Fleet information about the ComSpike prototype, either by going undercover or as a trigger-happy Rambo aboard the UC ship SY-920.

Anyway, "The Best There is" is not what this guide is about. It is about the evidence against the Crimson Fleet that is aboard SY-920 and that the Sysdef wants you to get. The problem is that this evidence can slip through your fingers. And then what? Can you return to SY-920 later to take the evidence?

Get the Evidence from SY-920 Outside the Quest

In the case of the evidence against the Crimson Fleet on board SY-920, Bethesda is merciless. If you don't bag it during the Crimson Fleet faction quest "The Best There is", then the way back remains blocked to you. So you definitely can't return to SY-920 outside of the said quest.

So the big question remains, where is the evidence inside the military station? The answer is: look for the office of Dr. Gabriel Vogel; you will find the evidence in the room right behind it.
