From Software has celebrated its biggest success to date with Elden Ring. Both die-hard fans of Dark Souls and Bloodborne and Souls newcomers give top marks. Although the game isn't even six months old, another From Software title may be coming soon.
After three months, Elden Ring had already sold over 13 million copies. Unprecedented success for the developers around studio boss Hidetaka Miyazaki. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that the community is already looking forward to the next game from From Software.
The rumor mill has been churning for a long time. In an interview with the Japanese site 4gamer, Miyazaki now hinted that a new title would be released soon. Miyazaki announced that From Software has been working on three different games since 2018. One of them is Elden Ring, which has already been released. The other two titles have not yet been announced. According to lead developer Miyazaki, one of them is already in the final stages of development.
Some information suggests that From Software's next title could be a continuation of the Armored Core series, which is now 25 years old. This is a third-person shooter with Mecca elements. Here, too, the game world is said to have been significantly influenced by Hidetaka Miyazaki.
Meanwhile, the fan community, which has grown significantly as a result of the Elden Ring, continues to fight its way through the intermediate lands and longingly hopes for new content for the Souls hit and maybe even for a sequel. Even if there are no official statements yet, a DLC for Elden Ring is expected for this year. Because except for the first Dark Souls, the first DLCs for the other "Dark Souls" games appeared within a year of release.
A sequel to Elden Ring also doesn't seem unlikely. After a collaboration with the author of the Game of Thrones books, George. R. R. Martin, a collaboration with Brandon Sanderson now seems to be in the offing. Sanderson is best known for his fantasy series, The Stormlight Chronicles. In a live stream, Sanderson was surprised with a huge Elden Ring fan pack sent to him by Bandai Namco.
When unpacking, a message appeared, among other things, in which Sanderson was asked about a potential collaboration:
"They're interested in maybe doing something together, that's in the letter. I'm interested too. In fact, I already have a pitch in mind for her if I ever get a chance. Maybe I should just send them my pitch to see what they think."
So fans can rightly hope for new content for Elden Ring as well as new titles from From Software. We will keep you up to date on all innovations.
