Besides farming oil in the seas and on high mountains, you can also go hunting. In total, there are four different animals in Ark that will give you oil when you cut them up:
You can also make the sticky oil yourself. There are three different methods to do this. First, you can tame a dung beetle, which will passively produce oil and fertilizer as it wanders around. Or you can breed one or two Hesperornis, whose eggs you can turn into oil in a cooking station. For the last method, you need the Tusoteuthis or the Basilosaurus mentioned above. Both dinosaurs passively produce oil, which you can easily take from their inventories.
These are all the methods we know of how you can get oil on Fjordur in Ark. But our personal recommendation is to farm the rich oil deposits on the map above. Do you know of any other locations that we have forgotten? Then write us a comment or join our social media channels!
