The Gallimimus in ARK: Survival Evolved is a flight animal with an incredibly high sprint speed. Once you have managed to catch him, you have a fast mount that can take two more people with you on its saddle.
Find out everything you need to know about the sprinter herbivore in our Gallimimus guide. But also how to catch him, tame him, feed him, and breed offspring too.
This is the Gallimimus in ARK: Survival Evolved
Appearance: Visually, the Gallimimus is reminiscent of an ostrich, only without its plumage.
Wild: The Gallimimus is a flight animal that never moves slowly. If you attack him, he will run away immediately after the first hit and at an incredibly high speed. Gallimimus is only a lot slower in water.
Domesticated: Domesticated, the Gallimimus is a fast and nimble mount that can carry three people on its saddle once you level up the weight it can carry. The players who do not “control” the Gallimimus or are “passengers” can use their weapons. It is rather unsuitable for direct combat.
How to tame the Gallimimus in ARK
How to hunt the Gallimimus: You can try to hit the Gallimimus with the tranquilizer darts without pinning him first. However, since he can run extremely fast and will sprint away after your first hit, this is quite a difficult endeavor.
It’s easier to hold him down with a bola and only then shoot the tranquilizer darts at him. Keep his low health in mind and wait after each shot, so you don’t accidentally take him out.
How to tame him: Once he’s unconscious, put berries or kibble in his inventory and feed him that. To keep the Gallimimus down and the Stun value up, it’s best to use the Narcotic or Narcoberries. Take enough narcoberries or anesthetic with you, because the sedation value, with Gallimimus, goes down quickly.

How to breed the Gallimimus in ARK
This is how you prepare the breeding: If you have a male and female specimen, you build an enclosure that is large enough at best. Put both dinos in the pen and set them to “wander” via the command menu. Alternatively, you can also switch directly to “Pair”, but then there must always be a player nearby, otherwise the pairing will stop due to the rendering.

The breeding interval of a Gallimimus is 18 to 48 hours.
How to Hatch Eggs: If you have obtained a fertilized Gallimimus Egg from a successful mating, hatching begins. For this, the ambient temperature of the egg should be between 24 °C and 28 °C and in the egg incubator at 26 °C. According to standard settings, the little Gallimimus baby hatches after about 1.5 hours. After that, it takes about 2.5 hours of your attention, during which you keep putting food in its inventory.
Once it gains juvenile status, it can feed on its own. The entire ripening time lasts about 1 day and 2.5 hours.
