In Diablo 4, you can find “Silent Chests” in the open game world that remain locked to you. To open them, you need Whispering Keys. Our Diablo 4 Guide tells you where you can get the Whispering Keys for the Silent Chests.

Why you require Whispering Keys: If you find a so-called Silent Chest in Diablo 4, you cannot open it so easily. You require a Whispering Key, which you have to work hard for. However, the loot in such a chest is worth the effort. Legendary items can also be contained.

Here you can Get Whispering Keys in Diablo 4.

If you find a Silent Chest and need a Whispering Key, go to the capital. For example, in Act 1 in the Fractured Peaks to Kyovashad. Here you will find Lizveth, the Purveyor of Curiosities, east of the city. You can buy such a key from her for 20 Obols, which you get through the Renown system or when you complete world events.

If you have bought one or more keys, they do not end up directly in your inventory under the “Equipment” tab, but in your “Consumables”. Now you can use these keys to open the silent chests in the open game world and collect the loot.

Tip: Always have a few Whispering Keys with you. Silent Chests spawn randomly wherever normal chests can appear. But they don't stay long and can disappear again. It is advisable to always have a key with you.

Tip: Even though the silent chests can contain Legendarys, the contents are often not worth it in the level phase. Once you have reached your maximum Obolusse, buy a few keys and save them for the endgame. On higher animal levels, rarer items can also drop from the chests.
