More content is added with each wipe in Escape from Tarkov. Not only did the long-awaited map Streets of Tarkov find its way into the game in the last wipe, but the merchant Lightkeeper is now available. The following article will tell you how to unlock the Lightkeeper and what it brings you.
Here’s what it’s all about: In the latest update of Escape from Tarkov, the Lightkeeper merchant has been added to its Lighthouse map. However, you cannot simply visit him to interact with him. Instead, you must complete a few things before you can get to him. In addition, he currently does not function as a real dealer. We’ll tell you everything you need to know about the new retailer.

This is what you need to know about the Lightkeeper in Escape from Tarkov
As mentioned before, you can’t just go straight to the new NPC Lightkeeper but must first complete several things to get through and interact with him. Unfortunately, the Lightkeeper does not currently work as a trader; you can neither buy items nor trade with him. Instead, he’s more of a client for special quests in Escape from Tarkov’s endgame.
If you have had problems unlocking the Kappa Container, i.e. the previous endgame, in the last wipe cycles, the Lightkeeper will probably be challenging to reach for you. If you make it this far, it currently looks like this achievement won’t do you much good. Because to meet all the requirements, you have to be very advanced in the game, and you won’t get any special items or things that couldn’t be achieved otherwise.
SPOILER ALERT: In the following section, we list all the quests necessary to unlock the Lightkeeper. If you’d rather learn how to interact with him, read no further! |
The Requirements to Unlock the Lightkeeper
In addition to a whole series of not-exactly-easy quests, there seems to be only one other requirement to be able to cross the bridge to the Lightkeeper. This is your karma as a Scav. You have to bring this to at least 2.0, otherwise, you won’t get to him even if you have completed all the quests.
Tip: To get Scav Karma quickly, you should use the vehicle exits on the various maps as often as possible. In addition, each successful Extract as a Scav and the tasks of Fence will bring you more Karma. |
You must complete these tasks to unlock the Lightkeeper
- The Punisher – Part 5
- Bullshit
- House Arrest – Part 1
- Cargo X – Part 4
- Peacekeeping Mission
- Living High is not a Crime – Part 2
- The Blood of War – Part 3
- The Huntsman Path Eraser – Part 2
- The Tarkov Shooter – Part 8
- Gunsmith – Part 15
- Broadcast – Part 2
- Decontamination Service
- Drug Trafficking
Once you have a Scav Karma of 2.0 and have completed all of the above tasks, the Merchant Mechanic will give you a new task called “Network Provider – Part 1” which will unlock the Lightkeeper. If you are not yet familiar with the various maps, we have suitable guides for all current maps for you:
