Gold is the key to numerous recipes, items and much more in Hogwarts Legacy. It feels like you always have too little of it. We'll tell you the best ways to make sure you never go broke.
In this guide, you will learn:
During your school career at Hogwarts, you will repeatedly come across places where you cannot progress without the necessary Knuts. As not everyone has a full dungeon in Gringotts, you may have already asked yourself how you can farm gold in Hogwarts Legacy. There are numerous things that you cannot buy without sufficient galleons, but without which you cannot continue the story. These include, among others:
The higher the quality of the equipment, the more expensive it is. A good broom can easily cost up to 5,000 gold. So that you don't have to wear your great-aunt's antique cloak like Ron, we'll tell you how you can earn gold quickly and easily in Hogwarts Legacy.
There are several ways to not only earn enough gold in Hogwarts Legacy, but also to become really rich. You can tackle some of these opportunities on the side while pursuing the story and side quests. The open world of Hogwarts Legacy is literally crammed with chests and sacks, which always provide a small or large amount of gold. In addition to cash, you can also obtain pieces of gear such as glasses, scarves, cloaks, outfits and so on.
Your inventory will regularly be full. But that's no reason to be annoyed. Because you can sell the excess equipment for gold at any merchant in the game. Before you start a new story quest, you should always visit Hogsmeade and get rid of everything you don't need, otherwise you won't be able to open all chests because your inventory is full again.
You can also increase your available slots for equipment by completing Merlin's trials. This is definitely worthwhile, as you won't have to travel back to Hogsmeade every few minutes to sell because your inventory is already full again.
You will always have quests for which you have to rescue one or two magical creatures, such as a Diricawl. You will notice that these creatures almost always travel in groups. This gives you the opportunity to quickly earn a little extra gold.
We recommend that you capture all the animals you meet along the way, as you can sell them at Brood & Peck on your next visit to Hogsmeade. Just one little Diricawl will earn you 120 gold. So if you bring the whole pack with you, you will have earned at least 600 gold for one minute's work.
As soon as you have unlocked the Disillusionment spell, you can open the eye chests that can be found throughout the Open World. In Hogsmeade alone there are quite a few of them, which will give you 7,000 gold. Each chest contains 500 gold.
So it's worth pausing occasionally to cast Revelio to make sure you don't miss any of these treasure chests.
