In the Ancient Nightmare event in Diablo Immortal, you fight against a powerful world boss. You can find out how to take part in the event, what tactics make sense against the ancient nightmare and what rewards you get for it in our guide.

Here you will find the ancient nightmare: to face the world boss, you must travel to Mount Zavain, the seventh area in Diablo Immortal. However, before you head out, you should check that you meet all the requirements to participate in the event.

In addition, it is also recommended to face the ancient nightmare in a group. The world boss not only deals out a lot of damage with his shield but also withstands a lot of attacks.

How to participate in the Ancient Nightmare event

The Ancient Nightmare world boss spawns three times every Wednesday and Friday at 12:00, 20:30, and 22:00 server time. A countdown that pops up automatically as soon as you are in Misty Valley on Mount Zavain will tell you when it starts. However, it is not enough just to be in the right place at the right time. There are other requirements you must meet in order for the Ancient Nightmare to spawn for you:

  • You must be level 60.
  • You must be playing on at least first Hell difficulty.
  • You must make your way to Mount Zavain in time.

As soon as the event starts and you meet all the requirements, a message will automatically pop up. With a click on "ok" you can navigate your character directly to the boss.

Fighting the Ancient Nightmare

In the fight against the world boss, there are a few tricks that you can use to make the fight easier. The boss himself is protected by a powerful and impenetrable shield. This shield deals significant damage to nearby players. So ranged fighters have a bit of an advantage here. The boss himself moves in a relatively straight line. On its way, the Ancient Nightmare passes through several altars.

As soon as the boss is near an altar, it will be activated. The altar then deals damage to the boss's shield with an aura of light. Only when the shield is broken can you attack the Ancient Nightmare itself. Once he's defeated, you can collect the rewards.

These are the rewards: In addition to magic dust, the boss will drop different loot depending on the difficulty on which you defeated him. To increase the damage to the altars and to activate them themselves, you can enchant them with the Sigil of Zakarum. You get these seals by defeating Lord Martanos, who is also hiding on Mount Zavain.

Find and defeat Lord Martanos

To get the valuable seals for fighting the ancient nightmare, you need to find Martano's tomb. The prince's final resting place is northeast of Zakarum Cemetery. Martanos usually appears here several times an hour. If just before you, a larger group fought against Martanos, it may take a little longer.

Diablo Immortal Find Martanos

For each victory over Martanos you get a Zakarum Seal. However, you should have some seals in your pocket for the fight against the Ancient Nightmare, as they also reduce the cooldown of the altars. If you can't deal with Martanos on your own, you can seek help from other players in the chat. Unfortunately, the classic group search is not available for Martanos.
