This is the Summoner: The Summoner is a mage class that summons elemental spirits to fight for them. She also uses powerful water, lightning, and earth spells to make life difficult for her enemies. Through her abilities, the summoner generates ancient energy, which she can then use to summon a total of five different elementals.

How to play the class: The Summoner is all about – as the name suggests – summoning elementals. You attack enemies with your spells to create elemental orbs. You then use these orbs to summon your elementals. Each elemental has different abilities that you can use to your advantage depending on the game situation. Depending on which class engraving you choose, you can improve your elemental abilities as a Master Summoner or increase the duration of your elementals through Bubbling Over Communication.

In general, if you want to play the summoner to the best of your ability:

• Keep moving and use your attacks to keep enemies at a distance.
• Focus on dealing as much damage as possible and be sure to avoid boss attacks.
• Use your spells to destroy large groups of enemies with AoE damage.

The Summoner's Class Identity

What can the identity of the class do? The Summoner's identity focuses on summoning elementals. There are a total of five different variants of this, each costing different amounts of elemental orbs.

• Osh (3 orbs): attacks enemies within 12 meters with stomping; stomping deals damage and knocks enemies to the ground
• Almaji (4 orbs): devours enemies within 12 meters, dealing earth damage and hurling them through the air
• Phoenix (5 orbs): knocks enemies back and burns them with fire damage
• Jahia and Ligheas (6 orbs): inflict water damage on nearby enemies; frozen maelstrom causes additional water damage
• Akir (7 orbs): draws enemies toward him and deals thunder damage; produces lightning damage from roar and thunder

Summoner's most important attributes: for each class in Lost Ark, you should pay attention to various attributes on the armor in the endgame. In the case of the Summoner, these are as follows:

• Nimbleness: More nimbleness means less cooldown on abilities, which in turn means more DPS.
• Critical Hitchance: Further increases the damage of the Summoner.
• Specialization: Boosts the specific abilities of your class.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Summoner in Lost Ark

The right skill for the Lost Ark Summoner

In Lost Ark, the first 50 levels hardly determine your final build later on. In general, you can reset your skills at any time for free and redistribute the skill points. You can build your skills however you like. Until you have all the points, you can experiment with your build as you see fit.

However, there is one clear trend that most players go for and that we recommend. The Master Summoner build gives you maximum flexibility in raids and consistent burst damage. However, this build is quite immobile and difficult to play. The Overflowing Communication build, on the other hand, is relatively easy to play and has increased mobility compared to the Master Summoner. How does the Summoner's rotation work? Because the Summoner focuses on her elementals, the rotation of the class also revolves around her summons. You begin the battle by charging up your elemental energy via your DPS skills so that you can summon your elementals via the elemental orbs. The actual rotation then varies depending on the build.

Rotation in Master Summoner Build:

• Opening with awakening ability Kelsion
• Use Ancient Spear, Electrical Storm and Earth Collapse as often as possible
• Summon Akir
• Water Elemental -> Bagron's Wrath

Rotation in the Communication Overflow Build:

• Summon Osh for destruction
• Summon Almaji for Stagger
• Summon Akir for DPS -> Sticky Moss Swamp -> Ancient Spear
• spam other abilities when their cooldown is up

The Best Engravings for the Lost Ark Summoner

What are Engravings? Once your character has reached level 50, you can use the important bonuses and buffs. Engravings provide you with bonuses and buffs to skills or character stats. It is significant to mention that not every class can wear every engraving. There are normal engravings that you can apply to your current character, as well as to your secondary characters. Then, of course, only when they have reached level 50 as well. We also have a detailed guide that covers the engravings.

Each class in Lost Ark has two class-specific engravings in addition to the traditional ones. In the case of the Summoner, these are:

• Master Summoner: elemental bullet cost is reduced, damage and crit probability are increased.
• Communication Overflow: increases elemental duration, damage, and attack and movement speed; decreases cooldown of commander skills

The Best Normal Engravings for the Lost Ark Summoner

You should pick up these other engravings: As mentioned above, you can take other engravings in addition to your class engraving. The normal engravings either improve your damage or give your equipment a buff. You can take a total of four engravings with you. The number of engraving points to invest is dictated by your equipment. You can get a maximum of 35 engraving points, which should be enough for three normal engravings and your class-specific engraving.

Which engravings you should take with you varies depending on your build. If you are using the skill with a focus on the Master Summoning engraving, the following normal engravings are recommended:

• Keen Blunt Weapon: additional crit damage (10-50 percent depending on the engraving tier), but there's a chance your attacks will do 20 percent less damage
• Grudge: additional damage to boss or higher tier monsters (4-20 percent depending on engraving tier), but 20 percent higher damage taken by them (not worth it until tier 3 in the endgame)
• Adrenaline: You gain a damage bonus per ability used; six stacks increases your crit chance.
• Hit Master: Increases your damage when attacking your enemy from the side.

If you choose a skill that focuses on the Engraving Bubbling Over Communication, you should also use the following Engravings:

• Raid Captain: additional damage equal to a certain percentage of attack speed (10-45 percent depending on the engraving tier).
• Grudge: additional damage to boss or higher tier monsters (4-20 percent depending on the engraving tier), but 20 percent higher damage taken by them (worth it only on tier 3 in the endgame)
• Keen Blunt Weapon: additional crit damage (10-50 percent depending on engraving tier), but there's a chance your attacks will do 20 percent less damage
• Adrenaline: you get a damage bonus per ability used; six stacks increases your crit chance.

These are Awakening Abilities of the Summoner in Lost Ark.

Just like the engravings, you unlock the awakening ability only when your summoner reaches level 50 and completes the corresponding quest line. There are two variants here, both of which you can unlock. However, you can only equip one awakening skill and not both at the same time, meaning you can switch between the skills at any time.

• Kelsion - You summon the elemental lightning Kelsion, which hurls enemies through the air and attacks them with lightning damage for 20 seconds.
• Bagron's Wrath – You summon Quicksand, which reduces the movement speed of enemies within range. Then the elemental Bagron leaps from the sand, hurling enemies through the air and dealing earth damage to enemies in the center of the quicksand. In the air, he deals earth damage to enemies and hurls them back to the ground.

We don't want to make a clear recommendation for one of the two awakening abilities at this point, because both have their justification in appropriate game situations. However, Kelsion can usually be used more flexibly than Bagron's Wrath.
