The Viking co-op survival Valheim doesn’t explain many things to you and lets you try out a lot in its open game world. But to get better equipment, you also need bronze. We’ll tell you what you need to make bronze.
You have to keep this in mind: Before you rush off to look for bronze, stop first. You will not find bronze in the open game world, but must be combined from copper and tin. However, before you collect copper and tin, you must first successfully defeat the first boss Eikthyr. Namely, it drops an important resource that will teach you how to make a pickaxe. You need it to mine the needed ores.

How to get bronze in Valheim
You cannot find or mine bronze, you have to make it yourself. For this, you need the smelter (melting furnace) and the forge (blacksmith), which you should place both in your base. You unlock the Forge as soon as you collect copper for the first time, so it’s very simple. You only unlock the smelter when you find a Surtling Core.
You can find the Surtling Cores in crypts in the Black Forest or in the Swamp with the little fire demons “Surtling”. To then make the smelters and the forge, you will need the following resources:
- Smelter: 20x stone, 5x surtling core
- Forge: 4x stone, 4x coal, 10x wood, 6x copper
To make bronze now, you have to throw your copper and tin ore into the smelter and melt it down. In the forge you can then process 2x copper and 1x tin to a bronze ingot.
To get even stronger, you should go in search of Iron now. But first equip yourself with the best possible items that you can make from bronze.
